Acueducto subterráneo de la Fontana de Trevi y tour por la Plaza Española
Descripción
Este es un tour a pie en grupo pequeño e íntimo de no más de 12 personas. Comenzaremos por las escalinatas de español, donde aprenderás todo sobre ellas y por qué se llaman así (¡te sorprenderás!). Por la escalinata española conoceremos la primera fuente del recorrido. ¡Aquí es donde comenzaremos un viaje por los acueductos de Roma! ¡De hecho, esta fuente sigue siendo alimentada hoy por un antiguo acueducto romano construido en 19 a.C.! Desde aquí seguiremos el acueducto que, en su mayor parte, es subterráneo. Y caminando casualmente por este itinerario encontraremos partes del acueducto que aparecen entre los edificios modernos. Seguiremos el acueducto hasta su final monumental: la fuente de Trevi. Pero no pararemos aquí. Nos alejaremos de las multitudes, doblaremos la esquina y descubriremos el depósito de agua subterránea que los antiguos romanos construyeron hace más de 2000 años. Durante este recorrido a pie no solo verá el sitio específico, sino que también aprenderá cómo se construyó la Roma moderna alrededor de las ruinas antiguas.

¡Aquí es donde nos encontraremos y comenzaremos nuestro recorrido! Aprenderá qué es la Piazza di Spagna para los romanos hoy en día, así como la historia de cómo llegó a ser como es hoy. El lado glamoroso de Roma desde la antigua época romana hasta hoy. Aquí también aprenderás que los pasos en español... ¡no son nada españoles! Te sorprenderá saber por qué. Luego aprenderemos sobre la icónica fuente de la Barcaccia, que todavía hoy se alimenta de un antiguo acueducto romano de más de 2000 años. Y aquí es donde comienza nuestro viaje a través del agua.

Esto es una tienda departamental... ¡pero no estamos aquí para ir de compras! Aprenderás que prácticamente cualquier cosa en Roma puede convertirse en un museo, ¡porque la ciudad moderna está literalmente construida encima de la antigua! De hecho, bajo este centro comercial podremos ver las ruinas del único acueducto romano antiguo que aún funciona en la actualidad.

The guide was amazing. He knows his subject perfectly and he was very interesting. The only deception was the underground, I was hopping for the Trevi fountain underground, but it's somewhere else. Still very interesting.

I was expecting seeing the underground of the trevi fountain, but it's not that underground. It still very interesting and worth it. I would do it again!

We had Virginia as our guide, she was good and had lots of knowledge about all the things on the tour. It was a very hot day, so the “mall” part where you get to see some of the Aqueducts behind the housewares dept on the lower level was unexpected but the cold air was nice. She did a great job explaining everything but even she said that our time at the Trevi Fountain was more crowded than she expected so we didn’t spend much time there, although she pointed out some hidden funny aspects like lizards carved into it, so I appreciated that. She said we could come back on our own time to look at it further. Then we went to the main museum of the aqueducts and that was very cool. She had lots of interesting facts to pass along and you can tell she is very passionate about it. This was a good tour and I would recommend it.
Hi Heather, thank you for taking the time to write your feedback, we’re so happy you enjoyed the tour with Virginia 😊 During our tours our main goal is to maximize comfort, the little surprises along the way (such as the aqueduct at the department store, which is also a nice break from the heat 😉) and the historical context that you wouldn’t necessarily find on your own. While we give you all the information and the stories you need to know about the Trevi fountain, that little extra time you might want to take for pictures and the coin toss ritual is something that is more suitable for when you’re on your own, so that you can do it at your own pace 😊 the tour ends nearby, so you can easily go back to the fountain.
