Esta es la montaña más alta de África. Tiene una capa de nieve y las cumbres de volcanes independientes más altas del mundo. La montaña se compone de dos volcanes inactivos (Kibo 5895 m snm y Mawenzi 5149 m snm) y un volcán extinto (Shira 3962 m snm) respectivamente. El origen de la palabra no es bien conocido, pero se dice que es una combinación de la palabra swahili Kilima que significa "Montaña" y la palabra Kichagga Njaro, traducida libremente como "Blancura" dando el nombre de "Montaña Blanca". Su tamaño es de 1.712Km2 y fue declarado Parque Nacional en 1973, oficialmente abierto al turismo en 1977, la montaña Kilimanajaro fue designada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en 1987 y Maravilla Natural de África en 2013. Subir a la cima que está muy arriba hacia el cielo es una experiencia de por vida que nadie puede olvidar. Hay siete rutas de senderismo oficiales para ascender y descender el Kilimanjaro: Lemosho, Lemosho Western-Breach, Machame, Marangu, Mweka, Rongai, Shira y Umbwe.

A truly incredible experience. We came for the mountain, but the 10/10 service from our guides (Moses and John Bosco) their team of porters, and the Keys Hotel elevated our experience from good to spectacular.

The staff were very welcoming , made us feel safe, especially Swai and Trizer. Frank took us on a waterfall hike which was super fun.

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro has been a bucket list of mine for a long time, and thanks to the amazing people at Keys Tours & the Keys Hotel they made that dream a reality. I would highly recommend using them for anyone who is interested in experiencing the beautiful country that is Tanzania. Whether you too want to climb Mount Kilimanjaro or perhaps participate in a safari, or just see the country in general, you can’t go wrong using keys Tours. They sincerely care about the guest experience & want to ensure that each client has a wonderful vacation. My climbing guide (Collins) was extremely courteous & also very knowledgeable regarding the mountain, its history, & the surrounding vegetation & wildlife. The rest of the team was equally superb & the food was amazing. I think I may be the only person who actually gained weight climbing the mountain :) A few of my close friends also want to climb Kilimanjaro, and I am going to give them all my details so they too can stay at Keys Hotel & use Keys Tours & have a once in a lifetime experience.
