We booked this the same day in the morning and I have to say that it was an exceptional experience. Our host was very knowledgeable, fun and informative. At no moment were we rushed through the tour, tasting or our stay at the vineyard. Tasting was accompanied with bread and was just out of this world.
We had an incredible tour and tasting and would recommend this to anyone looking to sample delicious Chianti and olive oil! We really enjoyed hearing the history, seeing the olive trees and vineyard, and hearing how everything is made. It was a quiet and enjoyable time away from the crowds of Florence. We even got to play with the two puppies which was a bonus for us! We bought a few bottles of wine and olive oil and it was one of our favorite activities that we did on our whole trip. Thank you so much for hosting us!
A high quality activity. Interesting and clear explanations with a generous tasting in wine as well as olive oil and balsamic vinegars. Warm and friendly experience that we highly recommend!
This was the best part of visiting Florence and driving a Vespa through the hills of Tuscany! To find a family owned vineyard (with the grandsons running the 100 acres after their grandfathers passing in 2020 - was a breath of fresh air ! Niccolo and Daniel Martello keep the family tradition alive - which was evident during our short visit, with them cutting the brush and moving logs! The whole experience, from start to finish at TERRE Di PERSETO (not to mention the wine and olive oil) was and will always be one of the most memorable adventures of our 21 day vacation! I can honestly say I will be giving this wine away as gifts and thank yous to my customers and clients from this point on. I wish I wrote down the woman that walked us through this property - she was as much family as tge rest and her pride was evident in every word!
Very nice family winery. We arrived a bit late but they were very understanding and accommodating. I felt like they really loved what they do.
Absolutely terrific winery to to visit. Toured on a cold rainy day so we were Inside. The staff was amazing and the wines we stunning. Yes they ship and we can't wait for our shipment to arrive when we get home. Ask about the dessert wine.
We have visited several wineries here in Tuscany for wine tasting, and they were all so beautiful. This tour advertised the added benefit of an olive oil tasting. Based on the reviews, we booked it and were very excited. Can't imagine our disappointment upon arriving at this location. It was run down, equipment all over, clearly not well maintained. In touring the production, some of the equipment had cobwebs on it and was so dirty, we didn't not even stay to taste the wine. For $40 Euros each, I would rather have gone back to one of the many beautiful wineries to experience not only the wine, but the vineyard grounds and property. The person conducting the tour was very nice, and very knowledgeable, but for us, it simply did not make up for the rest of our experience.
Dear Madam Thank you for your review, because it helps us to better explain who we are. Ours is a small family-run winery, a winery where wine IS PRODUCED ON SITE, where we get our hands dirty, where we go to the vineyards every day, where our tractors and our machinery are always in motion. Those who come to us discover the truth of this work, an hard work, marked on our hands, wrinkled and calloused, but of which we are proud. Ours is not a cellar-museum, set up specifically to please tourists, where everything is perfect, where fairy tales are told, where there is no real production but only a movie-stage. You and your friend, among other things, came to visit us on September, the harvest period, the most chaotic one, but during which you can really see how the wine production takes place. So you certainly saw a chaotic cellar, with the machinery (presses, destemmers and so on) positioned for their use. Moreover, we are then proud of our cobwebs, because we produce a dessert wine, Vin Santo, with the traditional method whereby the barrels must remain sealed for at least 10-11 years, and so the cobwebs tell us we're doing everything right. So, ultimately, it all boils down to a matter of expectations: here we communicate the truth, but there are tourists who only want the glamor of certain movies, the fairy tale instead of the truth. The choice is yours.
It was a great overall experience with an informative and friendly host Mattias and owner. We truly enjoyed the experience. Grazie
