Nice experience with Amr at Khan El Khalili. We had booked a 630pm tour on a Friday but he suggested we start at 3pm due to crowds and traffic. As you can imagine going with his advice was a good idea! We went in the middle of the afternoon in July but the heat was very manageable as it’s mostly covered and many shops have AC. This is shopping experience where you’re encouraged to just drop into any stores and see what they have. Nearly every vendor will call out to you or approach you. You can just ignore if needed, no one’s feeling will be hurt. Try your hand at haggling! However, unless you’re from a country where this is the norm and you’re good at it, you’ll still end up paying too but it’s all part of the charm. I thought I did ok, Amr said I paid 2x what I should have lol. There are some fixed price shops too. Jordi is the famous one but it is very small and gets extremely crowded. There is one across the way which is nearly identical and no one is in it. Go there for a more relaxed experience. We had a lot of fun and the kids got lots of little souvenirs. One warning: if you are claustrophobic or get nervous around crowds-skip this experience. Thanks Amr!
Thank you Amr for showing us round the bazaar. A truly amazing experience made better by your knowledge and humour
Our guide knew all the hidden spots and best stalls, making it a truly authentic experience. A must visit for anyone wanting to feel the real pulse of Cairo!
Highly recommended, Ayman was very knowledgeable and tailored our tour keeping the kids happy and making sure we got to see everything we wanted
We throughly enjoyed this experience. Ayman was very knowledgable. The market is huge, and we visited a great store for gifts, a perfume store & jewellers. We were very happy with the whole experience and highly recommend it to everyone. Our driver was extremely friendly and a real pleasure. Cannot fault either one. You will not be disappointed with this tour.
We did the private bazaar tour with Ayman today and it was wonderful! We actually booked a 12:30pm tour, but had to move to a later time due our flight delay. He and the driver were very accommodating to our last minute request. We wanted a tour that gave us a “local” feel and slice of life. He took us to the bazaar and showed us shops with the best prices for souvenirs and even took us to the oldest cafe in Cairo. He was a great photographer and gave us great insight on history and culture. Ayman was friendly and we felt safe with him the whole time with him. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cairo!
