9 cañones que los artesanos de Hue fundieron en el segundo año de Gia Long (1803). Nueve cañones se consideran una de las obras de arte de bronce más valiosas. Los nueve cañones antiguos se colocaron al pie de la Ciudadela Imperial, en la entrada de la Puerta Ngo Mon, la ciudad imperial de Hue. La Ciudad Prohibida se encuentra detrás del palacio Thai Hoa, fue construida por primera vez por el rey Gia Long (1804). En el tercer año del reinado de Minh Mang (1822), el rey cambió el nombre a Ciudad Púrpura Prohibida.

We had Thanh as our tour guide and she was incredible! This walking tour was the best way to see the Imperial city, we started at 7am to avoid the heat of the day. Thanh had incredible knowledge and such impressive language skills to be able to answer all of our questions, she didn't miss a detail, from the tiniest pieces of mosaic artwork to the large gates and thrown. Thanh told us about the history of Vietnam as well as the Kings of Hue and the impact of the wars on the city and buildings. We went around all of the important buildings in a logical way and didn't even notice the walking! We would highly recommend this tour, especially Thanh!
