Mark welcomed us at the airport to drive us over to the Maasai Mara. Our flight was delayed 3 hours, however this wasn’t an issue for mark who waited patiently and in no way rushed us. Whilst on the drive Mark still took the time to visit multiple sites even due to the delay and managed an evening game drive. As a typical British nerd I asked a million questions to which Mark had no issue answering and expertly told us about all animals in the park, the history around Kenya and was very knowledgable. We were checked in and guided at all points which I believe he went above and beyond over. Sopa lodge is incredible. Traditional and beautiful. The service was 5 star with nothing an issue. The warm and hospitality from Kenyans in general and the team at Sopa made the trip super special. I do understand the culture here is around politeness and respect. I’ve noticed numerous reviews that would suggest otherwise but I strongly believe there is little tolerance for rudeness here. And why should you be rude in a place like this. The safari was a true once in a lifetime seeing the David Attenborough documentaries in real life. We managed to see around 25 different animals, including the death river with armed guards, that was a cool experience. One thing I was surprised by is the volume of other trucks on the safari and the condition of the roads in Kenya. I think my biggest praise for Mark was his driving professionalism. I heard numerous complaints by guests around not feeling safe on the mountain roads, safari roads and the general highways. I can honestly say Mark kept my heart rate under 100 at all times, likewise my wife. We both agreed the driving ability really aided our experince and I think this is often overlooked. I commend Perfect Safaris for choosing professional drivers as I noticed the other perfect safari truck was off-roading capably, especially when we got to see the leopard, where we witnessed multiple trucks nearly tipping over. To note, please expect and realise this is proper off-roading! The final mention is around safety which as westerners and Europeans there is obviously a concern. I didn’t feel at any point unsafe and that at all checkpoints it was managed correctly. It does help the driver seemed to be friends with literally everyone in Kenya not just the park… (inside joke) Overall as the above, the trip truly was once in a lifetime (although we are going to book again). Perfect safaris from what I witnessed overall is definitely up there and the trip we took I’d say is the perfect balance. We paid the extra to go private tour only which was our preference, however to save a good chunk, I’d say going as a group doesn’t really change much and is a good more budget option. Had an amazing experience from beginning to end. Our tour guide Sammy was fantastic! He went above and beyond for us! He made sure we comfortable and was able to see all the animals possible during our game drive! He even helped us communicate with the airport when they lost our luggage. He was an absolute pleasure to have as a guide! Would totally do this again! He made our first trip to Kenya memorable! The hot air ballon was an amazing breath taking experience! The breakfast after was delicious!

If you are looking for a perfect getaway,serenity definately Maasai Mara in Kenya should be on your bucket list. The Masai Mara is best known for its extraordinary wildlife density. It is home to the “Big Five” — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros. We are grateful we were able to make this safari all the way from India. As a family of seven we needed a place to stay that would feel like home away from home. So we booked Sopa lodge which is located in the Maasai Mara and our experience to say the least was Magical. We encountered very professional and friendly staff.Anita warmly welcomed from day one till the last day and made our Stay here in this hotel very memorable. Amazing trip. Everything was good and organized. Especially our guide Kevin made the trip fantastic! Would recommend him anytime.

An excellent time was had by all! Anthony was an amazing spotter and taught us much about the Masai culture and animals… I would highly recommend this safari. Also he has impeccable driving technique having been doing this job for 15 years. His local knowledge and communication with others is second to none.
