Loved getting out of the city and into the hills. The guide was great. Bikes were great. Super nice to not have to figure out where you are going and just follow the leader. My kids loved it too.
This was by far one of my best excursion on my vacation. I went with my daughter and we did a last minute booking online. The bike ride was so much fun and the trail the instructor used was absolutely amazing. We got to see some really awesome views of Tuscany! It was fun and refreshing as we biked the journey and enjoyed the breeze. We got to take great pics of the landscape. And we also got to meet a lovely young family that rode with us! It was truly a great experience and happy to have done it with this We like Tuscany! I definitely recommend it!

It was so fun to get out of the city of Florence for a few hours and see the beautiful countryside. We learned so much about olive trees and olive oil production. The olive oil tasting at the end was delicious! I would highly recommend this tour!

I am an experienced e-Scooter and e-Bike rider but had an accident when going down a very steep hill (which was near the end of the tour)... when the rear wheel of the e-Bike I was provided began to accelerate speed, and without pedal control making it hazardous for even an experienced rider! Feeling at a high risk of losing control, I tried to slow the bike down by pressing the – (minus) button but it didn’t do anything. Also, I could see in the far distance that both our Tour Guide and only 4 riders from our 8 person group, had already crossed the street and disappeared from view leaving me and 3 remaining riders/friends of mine behind. I now had only seconds to stop my accelerated speeding bike to avoid hitting my friend (who was the rider in front of me) who had made an emergency stop having seen or misjudging a traffic situation with a pedestrian crossing. I turned away from hitting her and braked using both right and left hand brakes together. As a result, I was catapulted taking the bike with me and falling to the ground. I landed on my back, injuring my back, right shoulder and elbow, separating my ribs front and back, scrapes, bruises, neck trauma, and a jaw injury resulting in two broken teeth. One of my friends assisted me by lifting the bike off my chest and getting me up off the rocky terrain. Then about 10-12 minutes later the Tour Guide showed up asking “What happened?” So, I am writing this in the spirit of learning and the lesson here is: Tour Guides need to enforce safety regulations particularly with “Turbo speed” usage. Our Tour Guide only told us to be sure and have “Turbo” on when we were about to climb up the steep hill, but once at the top he neglected to tell us to switch back to using only the regular tour mode or eco mode. So awareness, responsible riding (and staying as a group), and proper safety measures would significantly reduce these risks of this happening to someone else. Also, if there is a problem with this particular bike accelerating when going down a steep hill, then perhaps it should be removed from your inventory of e-bikes.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. First and foremost, we are sorry to hear about the injuries you sustained and we sincerely hope you have made a full recovery. Following the incident, we reviewed the situation with both the guide and our office staff and also checked the E-bike involved. We found no indication of a mechanical defect. Our E-bikes use Bosch pedal-assist systems, which only provide assistance while pedaling and do not accelerate independently when coasting downhill. Likewise, the assistance level controls do not affect the bike's speed when not pedaling. We would also like to note that medical assistance and an ambulance were offered at the time of the accident and later in the office - we never left a person unattended, we are a small family-owned business, and we take care of our guests as best as we can. Guest safety is extremely important to us, and we continuously review our procedures and safety briefings. We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to provide the safest and best possible experience for our guests. Best regards, The WLT Team
The bikes made the ride super easy and fun. It was extraordinary. Beautiful. The views amazing. The guide knowledgeable.
Thank you for your review. We’re really glad you enjoyed the ride and that the E-bikes helped make the experience easy and fun. Nice to know the views and the guide’s knowledge made the day even more memorable. Best regards, The WLT Team
If I'm being honest, I probably wouldn't recommend this experience. We saw a couple of nice views of Tuscan countryside, and learned a good amount from our guide about the Medici family, but it was a lot of standing around listening and not very much cycling. I also don't think we did everything on the itinerary - it mentions a basilica with a great view of the city but we didn't go to any basilica, just stopped on the edge of a village for a partially-blocked view of Florence. The olive oil tasting was more like a bread tasting, with three different types of bread and just one olive oil - and yes, it was a good olive oil, but I would expect to be trying at least 2/3 olive oils as part of a "tasting".
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry the experience did not fully meet your expectations. Our Florentine Hills tour is designed as a combination of cycling, scenic stops, and stories about the history and culture of Florence, although we understand some guests may prefer more riding time. The route can occasionally vary slightly due to traffic, safety considerations, or the pace of the group. Regarding the olive oil tasting, it focuses on a local extra virgin olive oil served with traditional Tuscan bread, but we appreciate your suggestion about tasting different varieties. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, and we’re glad you enjoyed the views and the historical insights along the way.
About a dozen people on this tour. High quality e-bikes. Got to ride some beautiful, scenic, narrow, traffic-free, hilly roads on the south side of Florence. The olive oil tasting was a nice stop.
Thank you for the review. We’re really glad you enjoyed the ride and the quieter roads in the hills south of Florence. Nice to know the E-bikes and the olive oil tasting stop added to the experience. Best regards, The WLT Team
