Family owned vineyard. Enjoyed the wine, cooking class and 11 course meal. Jason was happy to entertain the crowds and we were happy to support this family business. The ride to the vineyard was also a great way to see the local town and coast!
Winery tour, tasting and lunch. Initial description is a little misleading. We traveled almost 40 minutes to the winery. I felt trapped during the beginning and considered ordering a taxi when I realized that it was not a real cooking class. I admire the son of the owners, who was our tour guide, for trying to entertain. However, it fell flat. He gets an ‘A’ for effort. The wine is only available for purchase at the winery. They also provided a great playlist for background music. The cooking class was more demonstrative and required a few volunteers while others watched on. It seemed like a kids craft activity. There was no sanitation prior to starting the cooking demonstration. No hand sanitizer was available nor warm soap and water. Gloves were provided but optional. After we made dishes, we sat down for the multiple courses prepared by the kitchen. They were beautiful and fresh. They admitted that we would need to salt on our own to our tasting. Luckily, I had brought my own seasoning salt. The only protein sources included pork, which I cannot eat. They were no dietary alternatives provided. I paid the price of expensive steak dinner for two for food I could have eaten at Cava.
Thank you for your feedback! Just to clarify—this wasn’t meant to be a long, serious cooking class for grandmas (though we love grandmas!). Instead, it’s a joyful and relaxed introduction to three of the island’s most beloved dishes, with the main spotlight on wine processes, flavors, and, of course, an 11-course meal that’s more “yum” than “lecture.” We were a bit surprised by your comment about not being interested in wine—after all, this is a Food & Wine Tour (it's literally in the name). It’s kind of like booking a chocolate tour and saying you’re not into sweets! As for dietary restrictions—we're pros and happy to accommodate, but we haven’t quite developed mind-reading skills yet. A heads-up in advance would’ve helped us tailor the experience better for you. Also, just a gentle reminder: we recommend basing future expectations on the tour description, not assumptions (or steak dinners at Cava… which sounds lovely, but isn’t quite Greek taverna style!). Safe travels and happy tasting!
It was just great The pick up was on time at the cruise Port. The winery was great. The surface was excellent. The cooking class was beyond and the mia was fantastic Very impressed
EXTRAORDINARY! This experience was outstanding! From the comfortable bus ride to the interactive and fun cooking class to the sitting down and eating our creations family style, this tour is a must do whenever you are in Rhodes!
Everything was as advertised. Our driver was prompt and polite. The tour was conducted by the owner’s son Jason , who was extremely knowledgeable and charming. The interactive cooking session was interesting. Lunch consisted of the same 3 things we made ourselves as well as many more Greek appetizers… all delicious. Would recommend heartily.
