Mycenae, Epidaurus & Ancient Corinth Tours from Nafplio
Nafplio is the best base in Greece for Bronze Age and classical archaeology. Mycenae, 25 minutes north, is Agamemnon's citadel — the Lion Gate and the beehive Treasury of Atreus. Epidaurus, 30 minutes east, keeps the finest ancient theatre anywhere: 14,000 seats from the 4th century BC with acoustics that carry a whisper to the back row. Full-day tours add Ancient Corinth and the canal.

Mycenae & Epidaurus en Nafplio — Preguntas frecuentes
How far are Mycenae and Epidaurus from Nafplio?
Mycenae is about 25 km north — 25 minutes by road. Epidaurus is roughly 30 km east, half an hour. Both fit comfortably into one half-day tour from Nafplio, which costs around €80 shared or €170 private with entry included.
Are the acoustics at Epidaurus really that good?
Yes. A coin dropped on the orchestra floor is audible from the top row, 60 metres away, and the theatre still hosts the summer Athens and Epidaurus Festival. Guides always demonstrate it; it is worth climbing to the back to hear.
What is there to see at Mycenae?
The Lion Gate of about 1250 BC, the cyclopean walls, the grave circle where Schliemann found the gold mask he called Agamemnon’s, and the Treasury of Atreus — a corbelled tomb that held the largest unsupported span in Europe for a thousand years.
