Very well worth it

It is worth visiting the cathedral. The walk was quiet. The guide Hernando was very attentive and had a great dynamic with the group.

This was listed as an...

This was listed as an English tour but of the 5 people present I was the only English speaker, so the tour guide Juan did the tour in Spanish and English. It's a good tour. For the mine inself its an individual tour. You can get an audio device to translate. Afterward, we all went to the same place for lunch. The price was reasonable and the food is typical Colombian fare. The mine can be cooler than outside temperature.

Great day at the Salt Cathedral / Zipaquirá with Nestor and Jefferson

This tour was a stress free way to see the Salt Cathedral and Zipaquirá. Lasting all day, as long as you understand you are along for the ride you will enjoy it! Our guides were Nestor and Jefferson and they did a great job. My dad and I were the only English speakers on the tour and Nestor always made sure to translate and engage our questions on various subjects. He was engaging, informative, and made sure everyone was having a good time. I would recommend the tour if you want to see the Salt Cathedral (a unique experience to be sure) and get out of the big city and into a smaller city. Thank you Nestor and Jefferson for a great day! As the trip planner, I was glad to have a day of just going with the flow without ever being bored :)

Excellent visit to the Salt Cathedral, the salt mine, and the small town nearby

We had a great tour leader who perfectly managed our mixed English and Spanish speaking group. The audio guides in the cathedral were good and helpful. Bring headphones to free up your hands. Beautiful place. Cute town and we all opted in for lunch which was fantastic

Cathedral underground

Very large and with many corridors and wings to travel. With the self-guide it is very enjoyable and passes the time fast. Very curious. The worst thing is to get from Bogota there. Public transport takes a long time and another method is expensive

Just a ride, the guide didn’t speak proper English, with audio translating one could go by public transport and get it m

There were so many people that I’ve got lost and couldn’t reach the guide by phone. They didn’t give a contact of guide but the office, who didn’t pick up the phone and didnt reply for 3 hours. I felt not well there and was panicking and nobody could help.

Will never use Viator again. Wasted time and money for no-show.

No show, wasted entire morning. No response, no contact, dangerous to use when traveling to new country and they leave you stranded not spending the language.

Operator response

Dear Buckheada, This Salt Cathedral tour is the most reliable on the market. It's one of the most respectful of passengers' time (which is why we don't pick up at hotels), and we waited to depart on time and fulfill our tour promise. We saw that you weren't on time, we responded, even offering you options to get to the point closer, but due to your schedule, it was impossible to agree. Sometimes we tell people, "Okay, just get to Zipaquira and join the group," but you didn't want that option either. Our service is 24/7 in Spanish and English, and we're always available to help. But if you don't show up on time, we'll hold your spot for you, and if we have to leave, that spot is lost. As a policy, we even decided to offer a change of day with an extra charge. No one in tourism does that; think of a hotel or an airline. If you don't use the service, it's lost. It's that simple. For our part, we always want you to fall in love with our country, to live experiences that create history, and to meet new people and cultures. That's our intention and passion. Our staff has also been to other parts of the world, and the tours they have had, don't even make contact, aren't attentive to tourists, and just do what they do. In our case, it's the opposite; we always strive to give our best. It's very unfair of you to rate this tour like that because it's not for nothing that we've handled more than 70,000 people in four years with a quality rating of 98%. it´s is because this is a excellent experience.
