The ferry takes approx 2 hours from Tanzania (Dar Es Salaam) to Zanzibar. VIP ticket gives you a good seat (much better than seats in a flight), facilities and enough leg space and luggage space.. I recommend this one considering the proximity from both cities, convenience and comfort
The chaos of this place may drive you crazy. If you are traveling for the first time to Dar es Salaam, come with patience and spare shillings. You will need both. From the moment you are close to the terminal with luggage the porters are on you, all wanting to take your luggage and help, the Dar es Salaam side is even worse. There are a number of ptocess to go through before you get on the ferry. Enjoy your journey.
