One of the tourist sites that most amazed us in China! The caves are almost all well preserved and can be visited inside and the majestic statues of the Buddha and other deities, are something that is hardly forgotten. You need to do the entrance ticket online, not because of the queues, but because you can't do otherwise (this was the only case since for all other attractions in China we bought the ticket at the ticket office on site without any problems or queues). To reach this site you can use the public bus (about half an hour's journey from Datong) or as we did rent a taxi throughout the day (about 35-40 euros since in a single day we also visited the Hanging Temples of Xuankong which are quite far away).
Very great grottoes, it was crowded due to the holidays, but was still very worth it! It is one of the most important caves in the country!
Beautiful temple. As usual quite a lot of people but bearable compared to other tourist places in China
Smooth entry thanks to the QR code. Should u want to visit the all place, takes minimum 2h30. Was not too crowded in March. 15/20 min ride from Datong. Beware of the people that wants to "taxxiii" you back to Datong. Close to harassment.
