We went on the sunset cruise and what a wonderful experience. The driver was very knowledgeable, informative and very patient. My only suggestion ( and I get this is not really viable) is that maybe an adult only boat, and to have a short time where you can be silent and just listen to the sounds of nature. We had a FABULOUS time thank you so much.
Highly recommended amazing cruise
This experience was a highlight of our Kakadu stay. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the land, the wildlife and the culture and shared it in a believable and humorous style. The boat was comfortable and easy to take our pics from. The bus trip too and from the destination was also comfortable and clean. The sunset was beautiful and there was plenty of time to sit and watch the day end over the marsh land of Kakadu.
Very well done cruise right from pickup to drop off. They pick you from the bus stop outside Cooinda Lodge and a short 3 minute ride to the dock. The cruise is for 2 hours and you venture up and down various waterways of the billabong and Alligator River. The guide is extremely informative and happy to answer questions too. They also try to give every onboard a chance to see things by manoeuvring the boat to ideal spots. You’ll see an unbelievable amount of birdlife and many crocodiles. I think on our tour we saw at least a dozen freshwater crocodiles and buffalo too. Tip - try to sit at the very front of the boat. We definitely had the. Eat seat on the boat but we were also conscious of that fact so after snapping some amazing photos we just walked back into the middle of the boat to allow others to come forward before going g back to seats once the boat moved to another location. Must see tour and probably the best we did in Kakadu
Dennis with 2 "n's" was very entertaining and knowledgeable. Engaging all people on the tour. Very comfortable and beautiful scenery.
Choose a clearer day. The smoke from the burn off did affect the clarity of vision but the whole experience was magical. The tour guide was deeply involved and the whole two hours was emotionally moving. Thankyou.
Nice relaxing pace with informative guide. Good variety of wildlife including crocodiles up close. Recommend the sunset boat.
Okay, so upfront, this is somewhat of an expensive experience. However it is one that is worth the money. Our particular boat captain and guide was very knowledgeable and very engaging. She clearly has a firm understanding of the various wildlife you will encounter on your cruise. So many interesting facts and highlights. As for the cross we sighted, keep your arms inside the boat!
Our guide was fantastic. Friendly and knowledgeable, unforgettable experience all round! We will be back.
Relaxing cruise in the wetlands of Kakadu where we learned about the eco system whilst enjoying the scenery and wildlife.
