Itinerary
In Queensland, XXXX means beer, but how did this iconic brew get its name? Find out on a fun and fascinating 90-minute tour of the XXXX brewery. Your guide greets you in the brewery’s visitor center. Enjoy an introduction to the history of beer making, and learn some of the brewery's techniques. After your introduction, walk throughout the central parts of this historic site. Put on safety gear and check out the machinery that brews, stores and bottles beer. Most weekdays, you can enter the Packaging Hall to marvel at the state-of-the-art packaging line. Watch thousands of beer bottles whiz past you on a distribution line; most breweries don't allow you to get this close! Once you have delved into the inner workings of the brewery, get instruction on how to pour the perfect glass of beer in the XXXX Restaurant and Bar. Taste four freshly made brews with a new appreciation for the work that went into making the tasty beverage. After about an hour and a half your tour wraps up. Feel free to kick back in the bar and enjoy XXXX's legendary beers or visit the gift shop before making your way to your next destination.

It was great learning about how xxxx beer is made. The guide was phenomenal. He explained well and took us around the factory well. I enjoyed tasting the 3 different beers at the end of the tour. Though I got a bit lost finding the entrance, with the help of a worker there, I made it 8 minutes later and still had a great experience. I would recommend anyone visiting Brisbane to go there if you're wondering how beer is made. And of course, if you love beer like me. It's a great tour insight of what is put into the beer.
Paul was very informative, sharing antidotes of his time working there, it brought back so many memories of my dad on his anniversary of his passing, of his 35 years of working with Tooheys days, it was great to see how everything is made what's involved to produce the product. Heads up DO NOT park anywhere near the Brewery on game day, as we got our car towed $67.00 fine from police, they are supposed to ring the person informing them of the violation, which we never received, before they order a tow, of $433.00 luck we could get it back that night, took 3 hrs with the help of the traffic control lady as we needed the car to travel back to NSW.
It is an experience that every Aussie must do. The best part is the tasting test after the tour. Well done.
I was invited along for a visit by Emily the Manager for a tour of the brewery, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The tour itself is well organised by experienced staff. You start the tour watching a couple of small videos about the history and the brand XXXX. You then do a walk through the brewery, and see how it operates and functions, The whole production process is so smooth and modern it’s not funny. You then end up watching fresh beer 🍺 being assembled and packaged into cartons. You’re then whisked away into a room full of old XXXX memorabilia and bottles. What an amazing tour. The tour winds up back at the Alehouse with 3 x beers 🍺 and you can buy some food and some XXXX merchandise. Overall, the experience is amazing and the staff are super friendly. Thanks to Emily and Adam for hosting me I had a wonderful time. I will be back soon to visit the Alehouse for a feed and beers 🍺 before the footy 🏉 Awesome time if I could give it 10/10, I would.
Great tour. Our tour guide Zach was extremely knowledgeable and learning all about Australian beer was cool. A huge facility and production. The beers were good. We got the burger meal with the four and it is worth the money. Cheap and good food. Just for future tourers, you are not allowed to have a beer before the your tour, I believe government rules but understandable. Mentioning so others don’t try to get there early and have a point or schooner. Def recommend for beer enthusiast.
You gotta wait until after the tour for the beer but once you get the beer... the beer is good beer.
Great to see how beer is made and the progress from the early days through to modern techniques.
Interesting and entertaining tour. Ken was an excellent your guide. Full of energy and enthusiasm.
We arrived just before the tour, sat in the ale house which is a lovely old building. Staff were friendly and the tour was amazing, Nick our tour guide was very informative.
