Xi'an Vegetarian Food Tour

Description
Being a city with a history as log as 3,100 years and an ancient capital as long as 1,200 years, Xi'an is not only famed with its rich cultural heritages but also a city with amazing foods. An ancient wall divides the city into two different parts with shanty area within and new district outside and restaurants fill up every corner of the city with a great variety of food styles. People who come to China always ask whether can they find proper food since Chinese eat almost everything. Yes, our food could be really complicated but it also can be really simple yet tasty. There are not only foods for meat lovers but also foods for vegetarians. Walking or travelling by feet and public transportation both inside and outside of the wall will allow you to see more of the city, and sampling and tasting in different eateries at different corners of the city without missing seeing the most characteristic parts of Xi'an will be quite satisfying and appetizing.

Can't recommend this tour enough. Not only I got to try amazing vegan food, but it felt like I got to know the city like a local. Michael is super knowledgeable about local history and culture, and we got to have great conversation about China and his view of the country. All in all recommend, especially if you have limited time in Xi'an and want to make the most of it.
We had a great vegetarian tour, and tried many dishes, many flavours, at many local restaurants, walked in different neighborhoods, travelled by tuktuk, had fun elements, great guiding and discussions. Our daughter who is not vegegetarian had meat options. In total we had a wonderful night. Highly recommended!
There is so much Xi'an food to taste and this tour provided an excellent sample, including savory and sweet, must-have dishes and new experiences. We had Biang Biang at its origin, Roujiamo for our meat-eating daughter as well as many more exciting dishes.
Jackie took us to a lot of great spots. He’s very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. His English skills are very impressive! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend it. Btw- we signed up for this vegetarian tour because it was the only food tour that matched our schedule. We’re not vegetarian so Jackie made it an omnivore tour
Highly recommend this tour! My partner and I had Anna as our guide. She took us to so many amazing spots and shared lots of knowledge. Xi’an cuisine is so yummy and vego friendly!
It was a very good tour, we have been to many places with tuktuk’s. The food was incredible.
We booked the vegetarian food tour with Michael and had a wonderful time and great food with him, he is very polite, knowledgeable and definitely like what he does. All the food we tried were delicious, fresh and very important: it was safe to eat. We asked Michael to order the food without spicy flavor and he was so kind to arrange that for us. All we tried was really good. We went to different places with taxi and also with tuk tuk, or just walking around. The vegetarian dumplings were extremely delicious, do not miss this! If you are in Xian and would like to do a food tour, we strongly recommend to book it with him, you will also get an insight in the Chinese culture and some sightseeing.
We did the vegetarian food tour around Xi’an with Michael. It was fantastic, zero disappointments start to finish. Everything chosen for us to try was delicious. I am vegetarian, my husband isn’t - but he equally enjoyed everything. We are both glad we did the tour on night one, definitely some places we’ll go back to or dishes we’ll try at other places. Thanks Michael!
All of the best spots with incredibly tasty food and diverse flavors! Super knowledgeable and passionate, highly recommend. Worth every penny!
We had an amazing vegetarian food experience with Michael. All of the food was delicious - he enthusiastically guided us to places we never could have discovered on our own, from food stalls to small restaurants - all providing a wide variety of local food choices while providing us with history and cultural tidbits. He also set us up with a tour the next day with his business partner Jackie - they got tickets and guided to the Terra Cotta Warriors, and other sites including a local noodle place that was amazing. We highly recommend the food and culture tours with Michael - he is worth going to Xi 'an to visit.
