A fantastic immersive show with camels, dogs, rain (real), special effects. A great spectacle Came as a family and we had a great time Great for adults and children Cons, located approx 14kms out of the city so had to take a didi which took 40mins or so. Food options there were not the best either.
Zhang was an excellent driver and so friendly. We felt like old friends by the end of the ride. The show was amazing and stunning to watch. The tour arrangements were handled seamlessly.
Wow wow wow!!!! Best experience!!!! The driver. John is so friendly and personable and took care of us so well. I could go on forever about him, and the show!! Incredible! One of the best productions i have ever seen.
The show was amazing. Animals all around you. Great story about the Silk Road. The pick up and drop off back to the hotel was awesome. Driver Zhang was so polite and helpful. Felt like a good mate in the car. We had a really great chat. Thanks Zhang.
Jaw dropping show with camels, wolves/dogs, and water features all on a revolving stage!
The experience was great, but what made the occasion more special and memorable was our driver/guide: Zhang. He was so thoughtful, interesting and supportive. It was a genuine pleasure to meet him.
Easy pick up Great shoe and easy return to hotel with our great driver John. Wonderful fast moving and beautiful scenery and stage sets
The Silk Road Show was truly a fun, family friendly experience. The storyline is a simple depiction of the struggles, hardship and triumphs travelers endured when journeying on this ancient trade route. Part theme park ride/ part circus/ part ballet concert/ part music concert, it really has EVERYTHING! Even (healthy looking) adorable animal actors! The performance venue is a purpose built indoor stadium outside of the city. The entire seating area rotates within the auditorium space so you will face a different set/ scene for each act. (Maybe 6-7 acts in total so you move clockwise 6-7 times?) These large scale sets are visually spectacular. Splurge on the VIP seats because it’s really nice to sit closer to the front. There are subtitle screens on the left and right of the seating area but if you get VIP seats, you MIGHT be too far in front or too close to the center of the row to see these screens. The subtitle screens are not very big. Don’t worry though, it’s easy enough to get the gist even if you don’t understand Chinese. Choose nicer seats over subtitles. The venue is about 45mins to an hour away by car. Ping’s Tours organized our show tickets as well as a lovely driver, Mr Fung, to take us there and back. We really enjoyed the show and having Mr Fung get our tickets and escort us to the entrance and meet us after (because it’s VERY crowded) was great!
“The legend of the camel bell” show is worthwhile to see when you are in Xi’an. The show venue is far from the city’s center, and it is not convenient to access by metro. We went with Ping’s tour. They picked us up from the hotel in a private car and brought us back to our hotel after the show. They also get us the entrance tickets. It is recommended to go for VIP seating. This show’s story line is about those who faced dangers and surmounted obstacles traveling the Silk Road from Chang’An (today Xian) to Europe in ancient times. It features 4 real camels and real wolves, even a waterfall (beware of water spray). The setting is great as the performance runs on a huge rotating turntable. Ping provides a story’s summary in English before the show, but there are subtitles in the venue as well. The show is ~1 hour.
We had an awesome experience. Mr Zhang is really friendly, helpful and polite. Inspite of the language barrier, we found a way to communicate via online translators. He ensured that we knew what to expect, he assisted us in the purchase of the tickets, he showed us around and made sure we knew where to meet him after the show. The car was clean and really comfortable. A really good experience. The show was really good too. Loads of elements were incorporated into the production. The props and stages were well put together.
