Stop at: A morning market nearby the ancient city wall. Travelers get a chance to visit a non-tourist corner within ancient Xi'an City Wall. The narrow market lanes are bursting with locals and vendors spread their stuffs all over and hawking. People could see almost everything from soup to nuts and could feel the hustle and bustle of local life. By walking through this busy market, you will see something that you don't always see somewhere else.
Located in the city center of Xi'an, the Muslim Quarter is the only historical and cultural part that survived through long history. It's not only the most active but also the most colorful area with full of street foods and restaurants. The traditional looking of the street will make you feel that you are in a real China. A bite of some street food and bargaining with some street vendors will be a real relief during your stay in this ancient city!
Great mosque in Xi'an is one of the oldest in China. With a history of 1,300 years, it has witnessed the changes of time and the city since thousand years ago.

We had an incredible food tour in Xi’an with our guide, Michael, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Michael was not only friendly and welcoming, but also deeply knowledgeable about the local cuisine and its cultural roots. He took us through the vibrant Muslim Quarter and beyond, introducing us to an amazing variety of dishes—many we’d never heard of before. From hand-pulled biangbiang noodles to crispy roujiamo (Chinese-style burgers), and other unique delicacies, every stop was thoughtfully chosen and absolutely delicious. Michael explained the history and ingredients of each dish, which gave us a whole new appreciation for the rich culinary traditions of Xi’an. He also made sure to cater to everyone’s tastes and dietary preferences, and his warm, easygoing personality made the tour feel more like a walk with a local friend than a formal guide experience. If you're a food lover visiting Xi’an, we highly recommend booking a tour with Michael—you won’t be disappointed!
