Description
Think about the morning. The other tours are already stressed — a taxi across the city, then a coach full of faces they'll never see again. You? You're still finishing your cappuccino when I pull up at your hotel. Just you, me, and a Mercedes van heading out through the cypress hills to San Gimignano. We get there early, before the crowds wake the place up , I walk in with you. That long line at Dondoli the two-time Gelato World Champion? You skip it. Yours is already in your hand. Then down into a cellar from the 1400s at Forme d'Arte, where you taste pecorino the way it's meant to taste. And while the standard tours are already heading back to Florence, your day is just getting good: Cantina Torciano — 8+ wines, the estate's own oils and vinegars, and a full Tuscan dinner. Antipasto to dolce. All of it. Door to door. No buses. No lines. Hold your spot now. Change your mind any time up to 24 hours before, and I'll give you every euro back.
Tour Options
Itinerary
Leave the crowds behind as your private Mercedes van winds through the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside. Cypress-lined roads, golden vineyards, and stone farmhouses unfold beyond your window — the Tuscany you've always pictured, finally real. Sit back, relax, and let the landscape do the talking.
San Gimignano: 14 stone towers rise above the Val d'Elsa. Walk brick alleys to Piazza della Cisterna’s octagonal well. See 14th-century frescoes inside the Collegiata. Taste cold Vernaccia white wine and local red saffron. Our Mercedes van climbs these Tuscan hills for 8 guests. This UNESCO site preserves medieval walls, paved squares, and heavy iron gates. No tour buses; just granite steps, ancient oak doors, and the scent of pressed grapes.
Now, roll up your sleeves because you’re not just spectators today—you are the cheesemakers. We’re using 100% raw sheep’s milk from these hills. You will personally add the rennet, stir the cauldron, and break the curd with your own hands. It’s a physical, ancient process that hasn't changed in centuries. The best part? After the work, we’ll taste the results paired with local honey and wine. It’s the most authentic way to actually 'touch' Tuscan history. Ready to get your hands messy?
Discover during your free time the main cathedral of the town
During your free time you will be able to reach the top of the highest tower in town
Step into Gelateria Dondoli, the two-time Gelato World Champion, in the heart of medieval San Gimignano. While everyone else waits 20 or 30 minutes in line, you'll walk straight past the crowd — your tasting is already included. Just savor it under the ancient towers, no queue, no rush.
We're now driving through the Chianti hills. Look out the windows: those are the Sangiovese vineyards used for Chianti wine. You’ll also see plenty of olive groves and typical cypress trees along the way. It’s the heart of the Tuscan countryside. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the view from the van.
At Cantina Torciano you'll taste more than eight different wines, including the noble Chianti, paired with a full Tuscan dinner: antipasto, primo, secondo, and dessert, all included. You'll also sample estate olive oils and aged balsamic vinegars, straight from the source. It's not a tasting — it's a long, unhurried Tuscan table, the way it's meant to be. Note: This is the experience when you choose the Evening Tour. During the Morning Tour (departure at 8:00), the winery stop features a wine tasting paired with estate olive oils, aged balsamic vinegars, and a Tuscan antipasto.

I never write long reviews but I have to write out this experience. Before I share my full story, COME HUNGRY bc you will be fed and youbwill not want to waste an ounce of the food or wine. While on a family/ friend trip, I was informed we got a Tuscan wine tour. I did not know what to expect and by the end I was truly blown away from the experience. It was convenient getting picked up close to where we were staying in Florence and driven to Tuscany/ San Gimignano (the car ride was bumpy but that is just how the roads are). We learned cool town facts from our local tour guide, David, got to explore/ shop the streets, tried gelto, and local cheeses at Forme D'Arte Cacioteca. We were expecting wine with the cheese at first but boy oh boy did we get our wine on the second half of the tour. David took us to Tenuta Torciano and this experience alone changed my life for the better. Right as we entered, the kind staff asked if we had any allergies and I told them that I am allergic to oak wood based from my past experiences; how I shouldn't try the red wines and only stick to white. Ever since I could drink, I thought I was allergic to wine stored in oak barrels after so many trials and errors, turns out I'm allergic to sulfites -specifically the synthetic/ chemical sulfites after trying their wine with guidance. I give all my thanks to Gabrielle! He is the wine doctor because he really listened to my past allergic experiences, provided different wines, both white and red, stored in different ways, like chestnut/ french oak/ olive tree barrels and/ or soley stainles steel and made sure I tried a little bit at a time to make sure I'd be ok. It really helped me discover wines that I could have without having zero reactions! Tenuta Torciano is a true winery that is generational family-owned and have dedicated wine making to be as natural as can be. I have had "fancy" Italian wine in the past and had bad allergic reactions to the point of embarrassment, but the wines I had at Tenuta Torciano are truly, truly, truly top quality. For the cost of the tour, you get chauffeur, geltao, cheese spread, many wines and 3 course dinner. Well worth the cost of the tour and I am going to be a continuing customer to Tenuta Torciano. We ordered a whole case of variety of wines and their Balsamic because it was truly that good. Grazie millie!!! <3
My wife will write the actual review, but this was the best tour experience of my live.
David was great! We had an amazing time visiting San Gimignano, tasting cheese, shopping, and having gelato. Our trip was highlighted by our visit to Tenuta Torciano winery. Beautiful setting, awesome food, great wine. On the way home, he made an unscheduled special stop at Piazzale Michelangelo where there is an incredible view of Florence. Would absolutely do this again and highly recommend you schedule a trip with David on your next trip to Florence. 10/10.
Gabriele is incredible! He is so knowledgeable and his pacing of the tour and cheese selections were amazing. We had an amazing time and would definitely rebook on another trip to Italy
Gabriele was an excellent guide! He was super knowledgeable about the history of Tuscany and about the cheese, wine and gelato we tasted. He was also flexible, allowed for plenty of free time at each stop, and helped make the tour our own (we had previously booked tickets to climb the Duomo in Sienna and he modified the tour to accommodate!). We had private transportation and were picked up, and dropped off, right at our airb&b. San Gimignano and Sienna are absolute must see stops for anyone visiting Tuscany. My family and I had a wonderful day and I cannot recommend this excursion enough!
Our guide was lovely, very knowledgeable and passionate about the local history. The cheese tasting was delicious (truffle cheese yum!) and the wine tasting with antipasto was equally divine. The wine sommelier was just as passionate. We had a private tasting room where we could look over the beautiful vineyards. Glad we booked a small tour (ours was private as no one else booked in for the day!) that had the advantage of being picked up direct from our accommodation! We booked the morning tour but I'd recommend booking the afternoon tour to have dinner included. Thanks again Gabriel/David for such a great day
We loved our experience going to San Gimignano! The pick up from our hotel was easy and the drive there was comfortable. It was great walking around the city centre and trying the amazing Pecorino cheeses. David, our fantastic guide, then took us to Tenuta Torciano winery for a Tuscan fine dining experience, including local wine tastings with the resident sommelier, Sylvia. We highly recommend this personalized experience for creating special memories of time spent in Tuscany.
