Educational and scenic tour but a very long bus ride from the cruise ship ports with many, many steps to climb up to the caves. The bus ride took more than an hour and 15 minutes each way so the majority of the tour time was spent sitting in the tour bus. There was a tour guide on the bus sharing information about the country of Puerto Rico and landmarks along the way. Something annoying and unexpected was a verbal review of multiple pages of liability release forms that each person then had to sign before being allowed to hike to the caves. The actual tour is a rather risk-free hike up many steps then trekking through a couple different caves so I don't get why the liability waivers were so extensive. The guide for the cave tour itself (Natalie - different from the guide on the bus) did a really good job of informing visitors about cave system ecosystems and showing unique features including several petroglyphs. She also took us into a part of a cave where we all turned off our lights and she used a red flashlight to show us hundreds of bats clinging high above on the cave ceiling.
I am glad you enjoyed the tour, but it was not with us. You must have signed up with another company
What a wonderful walking trip. Some steps. Somewhat strenuous in areas. Our guide Jessica was very knowledgeable. We saw a lot of bats. Some petroglyphs. The view through the Window Cave was stunning. Creating is beautiful.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a wonderful review.
Had a great time. Family run operation. Very informative! Learned about cave formations, saw ancient pictographs, bats 🦇, a boa snake. All very safely done,
We're thrilled to hear that you had a great time and educational experience . Thank you for sharing
I had an excellent time. I was picked up at a nearby hotel by the tour guide named Tony. He was very knowledgeable about the area and about PR history. He made me feel very comfortable and was talkative. The tour itself was amazing the tour guides were funny. It was Worth it!
This is a beautiful cave with spectacular views! The tour guide was awesome! That being said, this particular company has nothing to do with the actual tour. They literally just drive you there and drop you off. You are basically paying $80 for a ride there and back. The entrance to the cave is only $21!! If you’re renting a car, you can just drive there, they have a parking lot! * IT’S A TOTAL RIP OFF* (you stop for lunch which isn’t even included lmao!!) What a waste of money, lesson learned.
Thank you for your feedback. I apologize we could not meet your expectations. Our goal is to deliver a great experience, I am sorry, that you did not take advantage of all the information Tony your Guide was giving while driving to and from the Caves. The other Guests really enjoyed their Tour with Tony
We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the caverns. Lots of climbing and narrow passages but that to be expected! When we finally reached Window Cavern, it was amazing! Definitely wear proper footwear! A must do when in Puerto Rico!
Their website stated handicapped facilities were available. I called and they said they were available and that they would offer help if needed. They were not. This tour is not apt for those of us that need a bit of help
I am not sure where you called, but it was not our Company. On our Web site and our Partner's it states, that there is a hike and not suitable for Persons with health/back problems. From the Web site: Level of difficulty: Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level. This is just not suitable for anybody handicapped. The Cave is on a mountain. Our Tour Guide's do offer help if need on our other Tours such as Rainforest or City Tours, as well as the Crew on our Catamaran
Going through a company to this place is not recommend. The cost of admission is like $20 and there is on site parking so if you can drive here do it to save some $$.
We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the Cueva Ventana Tour. Not everybody feels comfortable to drive to the Caves and we offer this Tour to enjoy a leisurely drive with our Guide giving lot's of information about Puerto Rico. Thank you for reviewing.
We decided to try this tour just as a heavy rainstorm approached. It was torrential and yet, this added to the enjoyment/excitement of the trip. Our guide was very informative. Recommended for the adventurous even the youngest explorer - it does require some physical ability.
I appreciate your wonderful review and I am happy you enjoyed a trip to the Cueva Ventana.I always say: you are waiting all year for your Vacation, enjoy it even in the Rain. Thank you for sharing
At the onset, I was sceptical about making it all the way. To my surprise, it was not bad at all. It is cool once you are inside. There is only 1 steep step which is well set with ropes and support for people who would need. Once you reach the other side, you will not want to come back.
