Magic lake in the middle of the jungle

From Puerto Maldonado a guide takes you in a boat and then you arrive at the Tambopata National Reserve, from here you do a hike and you see some wonderful landscapes of the flora and fauna, then you arrive at Lake Sandoval, it is a magical lake in the middle of the jungle and you go for a boat ride, you can appreciate variety of birds, turtles, and I had the opportunity to see an alligator very close to our boat, it was very exciting, then you make a break for lunch and return by the lake, the reserve and the river.

Authentic emotions among forest, ara and giant otters

An unforgettable experience at Lake Sandoval. After about 3 km of walking immersed in the Amazon rainforest, surrounded by lush and lively nature, we reached the shore and from there continued by canoe along the canals. The silence interrupted only by the sounds of the jungle makes the route magical. We had the good fortune to observe the alaras, beautiful with their bright colors, and especially the giant otters, swimming free in the lake: an exciting and rare encounter. The direct contact with nature, the feeling of adventure and the authenticity of the place make this excursion one of the most beautiful and authentic in Peru. Highly recommended for those looking for real emotions and a deep bond with the Amazon rainforest.

Good but too long

The tour was good, we saw 3 different monkey species, birds, black kaimans... but the organisation could be better. We waited 40min just to start the tour and lunch breack was almost 2 hours. This could be a half day trip.
