The tour is not to be underestimated, but with the guide Lucia it was worth every second. Even the photos were stunning
Everything was wonderful! Everything was fine! The landscape amazing and our guide takes us pictures during the walk…
The walk itself could have been done in about 15 minutes, but lasted about an hour with photo shootings, not included the photos taken before the walk. The snack in the kota lasted more than one hour, I booked this tour because of the snowshoe hike, not because of the kota. So of a 3-hour trip just 15 minutes of hiking. Then 8 photos of me and 9 of my companion but 15+ of the other participants. And last but not least, we paid 60 Euros to get picked up outside of Rovaniemi, an then you contacted us in the morning one hour before pickup to tell us, you could pick us up one whole hour later than planned, because you would pass our hotel anyway on the way to the hike - 60 Euros!!! Sorry guys, but really really disappointing. Would expect a partial refund of this trip! Only positive reviews for the clear images and the interesting information of the finnish and sami culture.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we’re truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We completely understand your frustration, especially with the timing and the focus of the tour. Regarding the snowshoe walk, we strive to offer a balance between all parts of the activity and the photo opportunities, but we can see how the extended photo sessions might have affected your experience, especially since you were primarily looking forward to the snowshoe hike. However, photography is always a part of our tours and the edited photos are included for everyone in the group. We aim to provide everyone with memorable pictures, and we’ll work on ensuring that each participant has their fair share of photos. As for the change in pickup time, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused. We understand that such last-minute changes can be frustrating, especially when there’s a cost associated with the transportation outside the free pick-up zone. We’ll work on better communication to avoid any confusion in the future and are happy to refund you for this cost. Please feel free to reach out to us directly, and we will do our best to make things right. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, and we hope to have the chance to improve your experience in the future.
SO MUCH FLUFFY SNOW!!! This was such an incredible experience! Was amazing to wonder through the Forrest surrounded by pine trees covered in snow! Oren was amazing and allowed us to run around in all the deep snow and live our childhood dreams of making snow angels and having snowball fights (and managed to capture some great pictures on camera)! Oren also gave us some handy tips on how to build a fire and get it nice and hot!
A very unique experience that allows you to see some of the stunning wintry landscape in Lapland. Our host was friendly, helpful and determined to get some beautiful pictures of everyone to take home.
An amazing day in the wilderness with our wonderful guide, Sarah. She was so knowledgeable, engaged and made everyone feel welcome and included. The fire, sausages and Berry juice after the hike was sooooo hygge! (That's "cozy" in Danish). Thanks for a wonderful day!
We had an incredible time with our guides Oren and Louane during a snowshoeing activity. We took the walk in a magnificent forest on the edge of a frozen lake covered with a meter of snow! It was an isolated and quiet place! We were able to observe many animal tracks in the snow. Oren gave us lots of information about nature! The weather conditions were perfect: -25°C, sun, clear sky! The trees were covered in snow and we enjoyed superb light. We were very lucky! After the walk we made a campfire in a Kota and ate excellent sausages with hot drinks. Oren and Louane explained a lot to us about Lapland and the Sami people, it was very interesting. We can't wait to see the photos taken by Oren. Beyond Arctic offers great activities while taking care of nature. They carry out ecological activities to reduce their carbon impact. They also lent us warm clothes for the walk free of charge. It was essential with the arctic temperature! We will keep wonderful memories of this activity, thank you!
Oren has done it again! Our group was pretty small, but we were able to hike the area and more. There are some spots that he took us to that you see mostly in pictures from other users or something out of a nature documentary. Something about nature, snow and the clear skies puts me at ease. Maybe it's the quietness or in awe at the beauty of the scenery. I just felt connected. Snowshoe is not easy but not impossible. Foots of snow and having snowshoes on make it a nice workout. Plus Oren is a great photographer! Of course we did setup a campfire in a teepee and had a small lunch. Oren also explains the mission statement of Beyond Arctic which has reinforced why I chose this company. They are environmentally friendly and leaves nothing behind.
I thought this tour was very poor. The guides were very young and friendly but the tour itself was a 30 minute, at best, loop walk through a forest. Hardly an adventure as described in the blurb. Then back to a tepee where we cooked a sausage and took some more photos before back to the city. There was no information about the area or the landscape. It felt like a tick boxing exercise.
Hi there, Thank you very much for your feedback. I'm very sorry to hear that this tour didn't fullfill your expectations and experience felt too short for you. Snowshoeing adventure is total 3 hours long and includes driving to destination and back, 1 hour all together, snowhoeing hike and bbq on our private location. Depending on groups fitness level, we always modify the route of the tour so that everyone is getting the experience they are looking for and also not to push this adventure too heavy for some participants. Clearly this time we haven't been able meet your expectation and the route has felt too short for you. I'm very sorry for this. Propably we should have communicated this better to you already before the tour, that we can actually modify the lenght of the route to fit exactly your needs. This is kind of flexibility we want to offer for all our tours. We will make sure that we are more clear about this in future tours, so this kind of disappointment won't happen again! I wish you all the best and hope you had a nice holiday in Lapland!
Amazing and magic tour in nature with the best guides, Tony and Jessica. Must do to discover the beautiful landscapes of Lapland !
