Experience an amazing ride through the rainforest on the Tenorio River viewing wildlife - the adventure of a lifetime! Great for beginners too, this is sure to give you an adrenaline rush you won't forget. Rafting down Tenorio River 12 kilometers (about 2 hours) of the Tenorio River, passing through sections dominated by over 22 class III-IV whitewater rapids. In smoother sections, take a look around at the lush, forested scenery & spot tropical birds or monkeys high in the trees. This unique rafting tour finishes with the thrilling 12-foot waterfall drop, “Cascabel Falls.” When you arrive to the end of your exciting rafting journey at our private river exit, do a quick hike to the 4×4 vehicle, and then head back to to the tour base in Canas. After arriving back to the tour base, you’ll then be treated to a delicious Costa RIca Style lunch called a Casado with rice, beans, salad, plantains, and choice of protien. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated.

Hotel Pick up You will be picked up from your hotel and journey to Canas, where you will prepare for your adventure. You will then load into a 4x4 and be taken 30 minutes to the launch point on Tenorio River Rafting down Tenorio River Experience rafting 12 kilometers (2 - 2.5 hours depending on river level & time of year) of the Tenorio River, passing through sections which are dominated by over 22 class III-IV whitewater rapids.. During the smoother sections, take a look around at the lush, forested scenery and try to spot tropical birds perched high in the trees the opportunity to see plenty of other wildlife along the way such as iguanas and monkeys.. This unique rafting tour finishes with the thrilling 12-foot waterfall drop called "Cascabel Falls.” When you arrive to the end of your exciting rafting journey at our private river exit, do a quick hike to the 4x4 vehicle to drive out of this isolated, unspoiled region of Costa Rica, and then head back to to the tour base in Canas. Costa Rica Style Lunch After arriving back to the tour base, you’ll then be treated to a delicious Costa RIca Style lunch called a Casado with rice, beans, salad, plantains, and choice of protien. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated. You will be able to use the changing rooms before heading on your way to your hotel in time for a glorious Pacific sunset.

We took our family and had an AMAZING time! Even if you’ve done white water rafting before, the rapids were big and unique. The guides were phenomenal, and Jason (our guide) made the trip even more fun with little things along the way. They provided a great meal at the end of the trip, and I highly recommend this entire trip!

Our white-water rafting excursion was easily one of the highlights of our trip! A huge thank you to our guide, Junior, who made the entire experience unforgettable. As first-time rafters, we were a little nervous, but Junior was incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable from start to finish. He explained everything clearly, kept us informed throughout the trip, and most importantly, made us feel completely safe on the river. His confidence and expertise allowed us to relax, have fun, and enjoy the adventure. The rafting itself was exciting, beautiful, and well-organized, but Junior's outstanding service truly made the experience special. If you're considering this excursion, we highly recommend it—and if you get Junior as your guide, you're in excellent hands! The white water rafting experience was amazing! We went in April, so the water was low and the rapids a little less intense. Our group had ages ranging from 9-69 and it was accessible for all. I would call out that you need to be able to go from sitting on the raft, so sitting on the bottom of the raft to go down some of the rapids, so ensure your group has the physical abilities to do so. Our guide, Joseph, was incredible. Provided interesting details on the river and wildlife and ensure we were comfortable with the level of rapids. We saw 20+ monkeys, iguanas, toucans and a river otter! The one negative of the experience was the transportation to & from the river. It was a HOT and bumpy ride (20 min there, 45 min back) in a converted box van. Just a heads up if you have people that suffer from car sickness, it was rough. We also stayed at the RIU Palace, so that involved another 90 min drive to the meeting place as well. It was a long day (7am-5pm), but the entire group thought it was worth it!
This was a highlight of trip! Sergio was an excellent guide. We saw blue morphos, monkeys, snakes, tiger herons and ate wild a cashew and fed seeds to the fish. The rapids were thrilling and safe and the Tenorio River is gorgeous. A great balance between adventure and beauty. I would highly recommend this trip for families.

Amazing. Luis was our guide and went out of his way to ensure we had the most thrilling experience. The whole team was very fun and worked hard to keep it entertaining during the dry season. Seeing monkeys were a plus! The lunch after was on time and really good. Would definitely go back.
