We started with a lettuce pear goat cheese blueberry salad. No introduction as to what is was just the tour guide leaving us to enjoy. Out of 10 I would give the salad an overrated 4. Moved on to a pizza bar Great food 10 out 10 but again no commentary from the guide. Moved on to a hunter gatherer. Again excellent food and the waiter gave us a great explanation of what we were about to eat. Excellent food 10 out of 10 Dessert last and very enjoyable but no commentary at all. We have done foodie tours all around the world. With the exception of the salad food was great but at no stage during our tour did our guide talk about food , those that created it. And why they chose and presented it the way they do. Clearly our expectations were not met I would advise that punters just go to the places yourself. This is not a foodie tour just small plates at different locations.
It wasn't just good, it was amazing! I think because it depended a lot on the people. I thank the charismatic, cheerful Carol. I don't know much English, but even I understood Carol's stories, the jokes. The mood she set was present all evening. I thank Luke and Lisa for correctly accompanying the tour. In the supplement, at my request, I was duplicated menus on wots up so that I could translate in a translator. The guys tried really hard to make it work. About menus and dishes: delicious. I could only add a story about the historical component of the dishes themselves. Like why this dish appeared on the menu. More immerse yourself in history, local cuisine, etc. Also, of course, the company that was with me is what I deserve! Super guys. It was very funny, atmospheric, cool. In my entire trip to Canada, I'd like to repeat this particular evening. What do I regret? In my country, there's no such thing as a tip, but I wish I hadn't left much! This evening is forever in my heart.
Whistler Tasting Tours
Tristan was very welcoming upon meeting. I'm pleased that he went over the itinerary, along with the food items. As someone with a good allergy, he was able to contact the businesses and make the necessary adjustments. We went to 4 places and had a progressive lunch. Salad, pizza/flatbread, BBQ, and dessert. We signed up for the drink pairing and they were all local drinks which we enjoyed learning and tasting. Tristan had a fun little game we played along the way and it was cool learning about Whistler. This tour is great for any size groups, age varies based on interest level in food and learning. I would definitely recommend to others at the start of your trip to help familiarize yourself with the town.
Thanks for the great recommendation, Madhu! We’re so glad Tristan could handle those allergy adjustments so you could fully enjoy the local food and pairings. It’s definitely a perfect way to kick off a Whistler trip!
Great tour guide. Good choices on restaurants. Could have left out the salad stop. Nice way to spend your time in Whstler.
Hi Maureen, Thank you for your fantastic review! We are so pleased to hear you had a fun experience and enjoyed the restaurant choices and your guide. We especially appreciate your honest feedback about the salad stop—that is exactly the kind of specific input we use to refine the tour, and we will certainly take it into consideration! We hope to see you in Whistler again soon!
We had a great time on our Whistler Food tour. The food was amazing and we met some terrific people.
Hello Sandy, "Wonderful" is exactly what we aim for! We are thrilled to hear you had a great time and loved both the amazing food and the chance to meet some terrific people. Making those connections over great food is what the tour is all about. Thanks so much for sharing your experience!
