First thing to know is whales are unpredictable. We found out that we actually went during the off season for whale watching, but saw plenty of dolphins. Disappointing that we didn't see whales, but our driver made the day. He said to call him DC, which he said was short for his name which we would never be able to pronounce, and told us all about the culture and history of Sri Lanka. After a fantastic lunch on the beach, we visited a turtle sanctuary. I thought originally we would be able to swim (which seemed to be what was advertised) but we were able to see baby and rescued sea turtles. On the bad side there is also a "shopping tour" where you visit a moonstine mine, which is interesting, a spice farm and a tea shoppe. All of these have opportunities to buy, but the moonstone jewelry store was a bit high pressure. And be prepared for an all day adventure as we started at 4 in the morning and return around 5 in the evening. Overall, we had a great time and recommend you do too, but schedule between April and August for better chances of seeing the whales!
Thank you very much for your grate Comment
We travel to down south of Sri Lanka with Mr. Nimal Kodagoda as a three day tour on 24 25 26 of April 2021. He was an experience travel guide along with his care driving. We and my family truely enjoyed our family trip due to his experience was beyond the expected level. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the places that we visited. We had a very comfortable journey with him. Wishing him all the very best in his career life. Thank you.
Thank you very much for the thought. I really appreciate your kind support and it values a lot to my Company.

Our guide Smokio was really informative, kind and considerate. Also he took us where we wanted to visit, like market and specific restaurant. Thank you to Smokio for our perfect one day in Colombo.

1 Our driver was wonderful so my 3 stars is no reflection on him
2 The voucher should suggest you bring towels because we didn't have anything to dry off with so we didn't end up swimming. There was also not anywhere to change back into dry clothes or rinse off at, that we knew of.
3 The tour should start an hour later because breakfast at hotels don't serve at 6 am and so we didn't eat breakfast, and therefore were absolutely starving by 2 pm, when we went for lunch. - or - Suggest on the voucher that people bring snacks with them.
4 The beach time of 2 hours should be optional. We would have preferred to only go for 1 hour and have some time to shop at the Galle Fort. However we were so hungry that even if we had been given time to shop, we would not have wanted to.
5 Give tourists an option to eat before the Galle Fort. I get low blood sugar and was really grumpy during that walk around.
6 Cut the tour time down an hour. 12 hours is just too long. We were absolutely drained by the end of the day.
7 The meal at the Fresh Beach restaurant was very good!
8 The Tsunami museum was heart-breaking but I am very glad we went. I did not know about Sri lankas tsunami because we heard so much about the tsunami in Thailand, which seemed to overshadow it.
9 The turtle habitat was something I did not realize we'd see but enjoyed immensely, even though I was terribly tired and antsy to get back to the hotel.
10 The driver was wonderful so I feel like saying it twice. He did everything to accommodate me, including stopping at certain sites along route that I wanted to walk around and take photos of, that were not part of the tour.
