West Side Market & Ohio City Neighborhood Food Tour of Cleveland

I went with 3 friends. We had all lived (or live) in Cleveland and yet we learned new things all along the way. The food was delicious. My personal favorite was the Cleveland style brat. Katie was an excellent guide and a wealth of information. I would highly recommend the tour and would like to take one of the other tours.

The food tour guide Katie was very nice, she was knowgesble about the market and the Ohio City area. The food samples were generous in size and taste amazing. We were very pleased with the tour.

My wife booked this event for my 70th birthday, and my son and his wife also joined us.., tour lasted about 3.5 hours… The structure by the tour company was phenomenal, and our guide Katie was outstanding … Katie’s knowledge and history of the West Side Market and surrounding neighborhood was amazing… the tour was so well organized… within the market itself and its vendors… and then as we walked to the neighborhood eateries. We had a number of great “tapas” styled food samples … and frankly were pleasantly very full by the end of the tour! We plan on doing this again with other family members! Thank you!

My husband surprised me for our 20th anniversary with the West Side Market/Ohio City walking tour. Michelle was a great tour guide- gave us buckeyes to start the tour, was informative, provided a nice pace to the tour, and was attentive to our needs West Side Market and at the food stops, which were all delicious. My sisters and I had a fantastic time on the West Side Market and Ohio City walking food tour! Our tour guide, Katie, was absolutely amazing—knowledgeable, engaging, and full of interesting stories about Cleveland’s history and culture. The food was delicious at every stop, and the tour was perfectly paced. The grand finale of Mitchell’s Ice Cream was the perfect way to end the experience. Even though I’ve lived in Cleveland my entire life, I was surprised by how many new and fascinating things I learned about my city. This tour gave me a whole new appreciation for Cleveland, its neighborhoods, and its food scene. I enjoyed it so much that I’m already planning to try one of the other tours they offer. Highly recommend to both visitors and locals!

What a wonderful afternoon in a fun part of Cleveland. I appreciated the detailed instructions - including picture - of where to meet. I've held up several tours in the past because I couldn't find the meeting spot. Michelle, our guide, was knowledgeable, excited about sharing her city and interested in making sure all of the participants were getting what they wanted from the tour. Our stops were varied and provided unique tastes of the area. The history we learned made the tour even more valuable. My only complaint is that my TripAdvisor profile indicates that I eat no pork. In registering for the tour I reiterated that and indicated the same was true for my companion. However, this message was not communicated to Relish Cleveland, the tour provider. Three of the tastings included pork. Attempts were made to accommodate us, but at the last minute, there was little that they could do. For instance, the brat sandwich, normally served with sauerkraut, ended up being just a sauerkraut sandwich - odd and unsatisfying. This is a logistical issue that must be solved between TripAdvisor and the tour companies with which it works. However, I would not suggest people should avoid the tour for something it had no control over.

Come hungry! Lots of eating but some walking too. Katie was a great guide, very knowledgeable and courteous. Loved learning about the food and the area. Highly recommend.

Our tour of the West Side Market and the Ohio City Neighborhood was quite enjoyable. MICHELLE, a recently retired teacher, was an excellent tour guide! The Market itself is Cleveland's oldest public market, offering meats, seafood, fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, dairy & cheese products, fresh flowers, and much much more! What a gorgeous building, which was dedicated in 1912 and reflects Cleveland's ethnic and cultural diversity. After the Market tour, we traversed its vibrant neighborhood, known as Ohio City. We sampled food and beverages at a local brewery, a Mexican bistro, and an ice cream shop...just to name a few. Overall, this was an enjoyable afternoon spent learning about the history of Cleveland and partaking of its many offerings. This tour company, Relish Cleveland Tours, does a really nice job!
