Bike was high quality well serviced comfortable. Excellent information from the switched on bike person. Just the right amount of time to explore wellington harbor plus have stops. Lunch/ café suggestions were great. Roads and cycleways in good condition although a few road works
Had the perfect day riding along the coastline to Red Rock. Staff showed me the best ways to use the bike, most scenic vs. most efficient ways to reach my destination, even how to spot some seals once at Red Rock! Easy to book online, easy to get started day of. Well worth the price, and definitely an amazing way to experience outer Wellington area!
Fun day biking over 35km. Map provided was great allowing us to bike to each point before heading back. Shop was very flexible as we switched our day reserved.
Staff gave us great advice on where to cycle with a map to follow, the bikes where top quality Well recommend to rent from here.
We were coming from a cruise ship. It was a pretty long walk to the bike shop from the cruise shuttle drop off, but doable. The guys at the shop were nice and knowledgeable. We rode around the peninsula along the coast. It was very clean and easy with bike paths. But be advised-Wellington is very windy!
Fantastic day riding the ebikes along the coast! The bike shop workers were highly knowledgable about eateries and places of interest.
An amazing self guided tour of over 25km of seawall and then an additional 7km back through the city bike lanes to return to the shop. The map and routing were incredible!!! Many bays and beaches and cafes that you can stop in at are endless!! What an incredible asset to the city of Wellington!!! So much beauty and fun!!
Thanks so much for taking the time to write this. We're glad you had a great ride in Welly!
This company were so helpful in ensuring we had the correct sized bikes. The bikes had plenty of storage onboard. The peninsula to ride around is beautiful if a little windy.
I've only tried an eBike once by taking a test drive on a relative's machine and didn't like how it operated. With the hills and strong, consistent winds of Wellington, I thought it best to try renting one. I received great instructions from the staff and was encouraged to try it locally first before venturing off, which was good advice. On flat surfaces, I really didn't see a need to engage the electronic assistance, but once I hit the steep hills and the 30 mph sustained winds, I appreciated the extra support. This eBike was much smoother than my relative's, and truly felt like it was just assisting and not lurching forward on its own power. There was only one issue that I didn't anticipate or notice until I returned back to my hotel. I have 2 bikes at home...and one has an enclosed chain guard...and the other uses a belt. That is why I forgot about the grease on the eBike's chain. I had it all over my pants on the bottom right. I don't blame anyone but myself as I am an adult, but I would recommend a reminder be provided if the customer is wearing pants in the future. Thank you!
Thanks for the review and I'm glad you enjoyed our bikes. We do invest in good quality bikes that are smooth to ride, so it's nice that it's appreciated. Good feedback on the trouser situation! We have trouser bands available to borrow for free and it's a good idea for us to point these out to customers.
The best way to see Wellington. Take the track next to the water for a completely different experience than downtown. One of our favorite residential coastlines.
