This was such a cool trip! We had originally planned the trip for 10th June but due to circumstances had to change the trip to the 9th. Our guide, Alin, was super helpful in answering any questions about changes to times and pick-up and drop-off given the changes. He was also super helpful at re-assuring us that we could safely store our baggage in the vehicle for the duration of the excursion. Our pick up was in Brasov Old Town and travel to the location took about 45mins to an hour - it gave us great views of the countryside in and around Brasov. Once we reached the nature reserve and the hide (the hide is literally 30 seconds walk from the parking) the bears were right there. I'll be honest, I lost track of time, but I think we had a good hour watching the bears. Alin was incredibly knowledgeable about bears and gave us plenty of facts and context as we travelled to the site. There were 4 in our group (Me and my friend, and another couple) and a couple of other groups joined us at the hide. We were not crowded and everyone had plenty of space to watch the bears. Overall, this was a great trip.
Super friendly and professional guide!!!
Absolutely great tour! This bear-watching tour surpassed every expectation we had, leaving us with memories that we'll treasure for a lifetime. Alin, thank you for this experience! You are the best!
It was a wonderful trip with a lot of experiences and Alin was amazing, we learned a lot about the wild bears, their rehabilitation and how they were rescued. It was absolutely unforgettable to see them roaming freely in the wood. The best way to end the trip. We had also the opportunuty to visit the magical and beautiful Medieval city Sighisoara, the Rupea Fortress with stunning views and Viscri Village with its authentic charm. Alin was outstanding and he told us the history of each place with passion and great knowledge. I higlhy recommended, the tour exceeded our expectations. We will come back
The absolute highlight of our trip to Transylvania was the visit to the bear sanctuary—an unforgettable and deeply moving experience. Seeing the bears roaming freely in a natural environment, after everything they’ve been through, was both incredible and emotional. It was also very informative, and we learned so much about their rescue and rehabilitation. This amazing experience was part of our tour with Welcome to Transylvania, which we truly loved from start to finish. Our guide, Alin, was outstanding —friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate, which made the whole day even more special. The itinerary was perfectly balanced. Rupea Fortress impressed us with its stunning views and history, Medieval Sighișoara was absolutely magical, and Viscri Village felt authentic and full of charm, like stepping back in time. Overall, this tour exceeded all our expectations. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Transylvania—we would happily do it again!
Spectacular tour! We were able to see approximately 7 bears during the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable, not only about the bears, but shared Romanian culture, and information about this beautiful counrty!
We had a fabulous time. I was a bit worried as i only book eco tours and was concerned about the fact the bears were being fed but our guide Alina was able to explain about the feeding programme for bears to keep them in the wild, rather than foraging in the bins which was reassuring. Our guide was helpful and knowledgeable, this is a great trip and we saw 4 x bears !
We were lucky on a rainy day just when we reached the visitor centre to meet the ranger it stop raining. Could see the view on thr mountains before we drove ro the observatory, a small wooden cabin. As soon we were in the cabin we saw 2 foxes. The ranger brought the food outside and we wait. Suddenly one big male bear came out of the bush. Wow and after a few minutes male bear no. 2 appears. Great experience to see these animals in there natural habitat. Thank you Alin to brings us up into the mountain and save back in Brasov.
What a wonderful experience! I chose this since I was curious about watching bears in the wild, and it was fascinating to get to learn about the two bears who came by. We also saw foxes, and one came very close to the hideout! Alin is incredibly knowledgeable about bears and the area, and you’re sure to leave this experience satisfied.
An incredible experience - must do whilst staying in Brasov! The drive up was beautifully scenic and then we headed into the mountains to the hide out to see the bears. We got really lucky and saw 7 bears in total and also witnessed a bear fight which we were told was very rare to see! There’s something magical about seeing bears in their natural habitat, this was a bucket list thing to do for me and I loved the whole experience bought to live by our amazing guide Alin, thank you for a special evening
