The first part of the tour was great with our first driver/guide for information and the Mt.Vernon tour. The evening DC tour with the second driver/guide was not good or worth it. Driver rushed us around had to ask to stop and actually get pictures otherwise would have kept driving. Also left us at MLK memorial claiming it would be better for us to get an uber instead of finishing the tour normally and dropping us off at original starting point in vehicle by 7:40 p.m. and dropped finished left at MLK memorial because driver did not want to do the tour correctly by 9p.m. Thank before you book this tour.
Great time. Mount Vernon was great and the DC tour was really great as well. Both tour guides went above and beyond for us and it was very enjoyable.
I enjoyed the Mt Vernon part. The driver was very knowlegable. But the Night Tour was awful. The driver kept giving out incorrect and misleading information. (the Washington Monument is not the tallest building in the world, nor was Francis Perkins Abraham Lincoln's Labor Secretary nor was Vietnam War fought in 1947). Also, we were let out to see the FDR memorial but it isn't lighted at night and was dangerous to walk around in.
Mount Vernon was very interesting it had Washington family home, and family tombs, memorial for the slaves that worked there, the whole workings of the grounds and buildings. They also had a nice museum area with a place to eat and a gift shop. I would definitely to do a full day tour starting at 2 was not a adequate amount of time. The night tour was also great saw all the monuments and some I missed. The tour guide had ton of information at each site.
The first half of the experience was great.. but bus had broken seat and was very uncomfortable on the bump in the road. One of the ladies was tossed out of her seat. enjoyed the tur guide though. very informative. Also just tell people t eat at Mount Vernon.. there is no wsy to eat in between the two parts but that does cut in to the time at Mt Vernon The second half was a beautiful tour and the bus was comfortable but the tour guide was pretty montone and hard to understand at times.
It was the most amazing tour. We took the 8 hour tour to Mt. VERON THEN THE NIGHT TOUR, Robert was very knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend it.
