See main sites in half a day

Excellent way to see the main sites in DC, with history along they way, when only a short stay.

Monuments

Lots of walking, could not follow the route because of construction around the White House. Narrative points out many buildings, only a few monuments, wish there was more narrative with information.

Operator response

Paul, I’m sorry to hear about your experience. I can’t control construction but I’m happy to report that only the first few stories would have been affected (and can be played manually when standing to the side of the construction). The other good news is that the tour is valid forever, so you can revisit and explore any sections you may have missed. I’d also love to understand which monuments you’d like to have added—was there anything specific? Your input is valuable and helps me improve the experience. Please feel free to reach out—I’m available daily from 9 AM to 6 PM EST.

Excellent value and very educational

This was a great way to see the major sites like the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the White House without paying for a private guide. The storytelling was high-quality and gave a lot of history I wouldn’t have known just walking by. It is a lot of walking (over 2 miles), so wear comfortable shoes. The instructions to download were clear, and it worked offline which was a lifesaver since cell service can be spotty near the National Mall.

Operator response

April, I’m really glad to hear you found my Washington DC Monuments walking audio tour such a great value and educational. It’s wonderful that the storytelling added meaningful history to iconic sites like the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the White House, especially without the need for a private guide. You’re absolutely right about the walking distance—comfortable shoes make a big difference—and I’m happy the offline access helped with spotty cell service around the National Mall. Since you enjoyed Washington DC, you might also like my tours of Baltimore, Gettysburg Battlefield, Shenandoah National Park, and more!

Comprehensive walking tour

Very enjoyable walking tour that was very comprehensive of the sites in the area. Instructions were easy to follow. Many sites were closed with the government shutdown, but we still got the information about them as we walked by. We spent about 3.5 hours with a bit of time to stop at the various memorials. Could take all day if you spend more time at the sites.

Operator response

Kendra, I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed my Washington DC Monuments Self-Guided Audio Tour and found it comprehensive and easy to follow! It’s great that you were still able to explore and learn about the sites even with the government shutdown closures. That’s one of the perks of the self-guided format — you can take your time and still experience the whole story. I really appreciate your thoughtful feedback. If you plan to return to Washington, I invite you to explore my other tours, such as those to North Cascades National Park, Mt. Rainier, and Olympic National Park. Happy travels!

Freedom to Explore

Forget crowded bus tours—this self-guided audio tour was the highlight of our DC trip. It let us explore at our own pace, whether pausing at the Lincoln Memorial or spending more time at the WWII Memorial. The GPS-triggered audio was accurate, offering detailed, well-researched stories that brought the monuments to life. Covering everything from the White House to the Capitol, it provided context beyond simple plaques. For independent travellers, this is a must-have for your visit!

Relaxed and informative. A nice way to spend a solo few hours. Takes in pretty much all the main sites. I walked at 7am due to jet lag and missed all the crowds

Good tour for doing it at your own pace.

It was convenient for a quick visit. I found getting the information downloaded a bit confusing. The QR codes do absolutely nothing. Instead you have to wade through the onslaught of emails to find a password. Why not have the QR code just take you directly to the tour?

Operator response

Karen, I’m glad the tour helped you explore at your own pace, and I appreciate you bringing the confusion around setup to my attention. I’ve disabled the QR code since it wasn’t displaying anything useful. Instead, all crucial instructions are sent separately via text and email, and it’s essential to follow those to get started smoothly. Thank you again for your feedback—I'm always available from 9 to 6 if you need help or would like to try another tour.

Great info and hits the key areas

Wonderful information! I'm a little directionally challenged, and it took me a while to realize I had to keep going back to the map to know how to proceed in the transition from one audio file to the next. It rained heavily the day we went, so We were only able to get to stop 22, but was really impressed with this.

Operator response

I'm glad you found my Washington DC Monuments Self-Guided Walking Audio Tour so informative. It’s great that you made it to stop 22 despite the heavy rain. For more experiences like this, check out my East Coast USA Bundle, featuring a variety of self-guided tours from Acadia to Key West, all designed for you to enjoy at your own pace.

The little we used was great

We honestly did not get a chance to explore much on our own (we booked too many tours), but the bit we did listen to was great. I probably would have preferred doing the self guided.

Good news: your purchase comes with a full year's access, so you have plenty of time to return and explore at your leisure.
