Washington DC Monuments Bike Tour

Description
See Washington DC's historical monuments and memorials up close and personal on a 3-hour bike tour with an informative guide. Cruise around the National Mall and the Tidal Basin to see some of the most famous sights, and take breaks to walk around and explore attractions like the Lincoln Memorial. Our Monuments tour does cross streets but there is no street riding making it the perfect option for families and those who may not have ridden a bike in an urban environment. On a bike, you're able to see so much more than on foot or on a bus! If you've never taken a city city tour before, DC is a perfect city to give it a try. We know that once you've toured by bike, it will be the first thing you look for on your next trip to another city! Please note that the "what to expect section" provides a sample itinerary and you may tour in a slightly different order based on what may be going on in this busy city on the day of your tour.
Tour Options
Itinerary
Arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour time to check-in and be fitted on your bike. Unlimited Biking is located at 701 D Street NW Washington DC 20004.
Arrive at the Jefferson Memorial and hear a few facts about one of the most impressive monuments in DC. You'll have a chance to walk up the steps and check out Jefferson's bronze statue and enjoy the views across the Tidal Basin.
As we respect our memorials, we don't ride through the FDR Memorial, so you'll dismount and walk your bike through the impressive four "rooms" that represent the terms FDR served our country as president. There are some unique photo opportunities inside. And make sure that you stop to rub Fala's ears for good luck!
Again, we don't ride inside the memorials, so you'll stop just outside and hear from your guide before taking a few minutes to walk into the MLK memorial through the "Mountain of Despair" to the Martin Luther King memorialized in the "Stone of Hope".
Like many of the memorials in DC, the Korean War Veterans Memorial holds many secrets of symbolism that you may never know if you visited on your own. Your guide will share a few facts that will just add to your awe of this impressive memorial. Remember: "Freedom Isn't Free".
Some people say that a trip to Washington, DC isn't complete unless you see Honest Abe sitting in his place of honor overlooking the National Mall. Are Lincoln's hands are making sign language symbols of his initials "A" and "L"? See for yourself when you climb the steps up to the top after your guide shares some insight into the design of one of our most storied memorials.
You'll stop just outside the Vietnam Wall to learn about the design and thought behind this impressive tribute to a conflict that holds such a personal connection for so many of our guests. Some of the stories that our guides share will bring a tear to your eye.
The Vietnam Women's Memorial is dedicated to the women who served, most of whom were nurses.
One of the newer memorials in DC pays tribute to those who served in World War II. Your guide will share some insight on the design and history before providing a few minutes to explore. You may even be able to see the only "authorized" graffiti on a DC memorial.
Have you ever noticed that the Washington Monument is actually two different colors? You'll learn why on your tour...along with several other fun facts about this iconic memorial to the United States first president. (Note: we do not go into the Monument)

Steve was the best tour guide. We saw so many cool monuments!
I’d definitely recommend this Washington, DC bike tour, it’s a fantastic way to see the city and many of its iconic monuments in just a few hours. Joe was an outstanding guide: knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely funny, which made the tour both informative and entertaining. Joe has two simple rules: 1) He values your safety, and 2) He values everyone else’s safety. Follow those rules, and you’ll have an amazing experience. One thing to note: don’t expect to get close to the White House, as access is currently restricted due to construction. Even so, you still get incredible views and plenty of opportunities to experience the history and beauty of Washington, D.C. Overall, this tour was a 10 out of 10. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the city!
Joe was so knowledgeable on all the sites and took us at a nice gental pace. 3 hour flew by and loved ever minute. A must do in Washington.
Adrian was my tour guide. He's very friendly and knowledgeable about dc history. Pretty cool he's a retired architect as well. 3 hours seemed long but with the frequent stops and site seeing it flew by. Definite plus the weather was perfect! Thanks Adrian!
Joe was excellent! Since there were only 2 of us on the tour he gave us an extended tour. Highly recommend!
Our Monuments tour of Washington was excellent. Our tour guide Marcus was fantastic and was very knowledgeable about everything we saw.
Joe was great, despite a lot of construction in DC in preparation for July 4th, he navigated us seemingly
Adrian and Matt were phenomenal and accommodated our big group of 25 people!! Highly recommend this company!! The history at each monument was on point. The ride was smooth and easy!
I highly recommend this tour our guide Greg was an encyclopedia of any info on DC both current and past. One more thing you should get e-bike you will thank after tour.
Lots of construction on the National Mall right now. Our guide weaved us through it all. The tour guide seemed heartbroken at times about the changes being made.
