Itinerary
Stop to learn about the Japanese Stone Lantern, located at the site where the very first cherry trees were planted by First Lady Taft and Viscountess Chinda.
We'll walk our bikes through the FDR Memorial to view The Pagoda, a gift of peace, that sits along the banks of the Tidal Basin.
If time permits, we'll stop at the MLK Memorial. Your guide will stay with the bikes (out of respect, we never ride through the memorials) so you can walk though the "Mountain of Despair" to view the "Stone of Hope"
Our Blossoms by Bike tour takes place during the National Cherry Blossom Festival. Bike and Roll DC is an official tour provider for the Festival and donates a portion of each ticket sale back to the organization that coordinates this unique springtime celebration!
We'll stop at the Jefferson Memorial and you'll here some history and interesting facts about the memorial. You'll also have a fabulous view of all of the cherry trees lining the Tidal Basin.

The ride itself was fine, and our guide Bianca was very nice but the customer service at the bike shop completely soured it. The two bike attendants we interacted with—briefly, maybe 20 seconds total on the way in and out—had incredibly poor attitudes. They were curt, unwelcoming, and came across as outright rude for no reason. It’s surprising how such a short interaction can leave such a lasting negative impression, but it did. When you’re running a tour experience, basic friendliness should be the bare minimum. Unfortunately, that was completely lacking here. I wouldn’t recommend this tour based on the service alone. Side note: my nephew did have a fall (unrelated to any fault of the tour) however upon returning the bikes and helmet and disclosing the helmet suffered an impact, it seemed as though they were going to reuse the helmet despite the fact that it should be disposed of (helmet was tossed back into the large bin of children sized helmets). It really does pain me to write such a poor review as I hate to impact a small business with some nice people in it but those bike attendants were really that bad.
Thank you for your honest feedback—we really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the ride and that Bianca made a positive impression. At the same time, we’re very sorry that your experience at the shop didn’t meet expectations. That’s certainly not the standard we aim for, and we’ll be addressing this with our team to ensure it’s improved. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention—we hope to have the chance to provide you with a much better overall experience in the future.
Outstanding tour with Joe!!! Took by memorials we’ve never seen. Tailored it to us since there was no one else on our group. Highly recommend.
Thank you for the amazing review! We’re so glad you had such a memorable experience with Joe. He’ll be thrilled to hear your kind words—especially that you enjoyed discovering some less-seen spots and the more personalized feel of the tour. Thanks again for the recommendation, and we hope to see you on another ride soon! 🚲
Excellent! Our guide Matt was awesome! Very knowledgeable and personable. We had no idea what to expect and it was the best decision we made to learn our way around Washington DC! Highly recommended!
Thank you for the fantastic review! We’re so glad you chose to explore DC with us—and even happier to hear it turned out to be such a great decision. Matt will be thrilled to know his knowledge and personality made the experience so enjoyable. Thanks again for the recommendation, and we hope to see you on another ride soon 🚲
We did the Cherry Blossom tour and had a great time. We go to see Cherry Blossoms as well monuments we had only seen driving by. Adrian was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable and got us safely to all the best sites! I would highly recommend this tour.
The tour size was too large to be enjoyable as the tour guide was speaking, we couldn't hear anything she said since we were in the back of the pack (13 bike riders). Also, because it was so crowded (not the tour's fault), we were often getting cut off from our group, losing sight of our group, and trying to cross dangerous intersections quickly to not fall far behind. It would have been better to find alternate routes that were more bike tour friendly.
My review is primarily about the experience, nothing against the tour operators. I booked it hoping that it gives us a fast and easy way to cover the Tidal Basin area with all the cherry trees in blossom. In reality, with hundreds of thousands of people milling about due to the cherry blossoms and the kite festival, it was impossible to bike. I was constantly worried about hitting a stroller or hitting a car — cars were also totally gridlocked. Half the time we were walking with our bikes or rolling along with pedestrians. This tour should not be operated on the busiest weekend, and also not so late in the afternoon. You will do far better coming in early morning and walking a couple of miles along the tidal basin for photos. About the operators: the bikes were good, the setup was fantastic, no complaints there. We should have been given more instructions about the traffic rules to follow (locations of the bike lanes weren't always obvious). I was also hoping for more storytelling from our guide about the history of the trees, or the monuments we visited. However, he worked very hard to make sure we all got around in literally stampede-level crowds, so maybe it was just not the day to stop and talk.
Very easy paced bike ride, plenty of stops for cherry blossom viewing! Much of ride was on the sidewalk, so you had to be very careful in the crowds there for cherry blossom festival.
Mark our tour guide was great. The traffic was busy due to cherry festival but navigate it well. There were some young kids on our trip and he was great with them. The Roosevelt monument was so great. Thank you!
We had a great ride with Aiden through DC stopping to see a few monuments as we took in the cherry blossoms at their peak. Interesting facts, a moderate pace, and good safety protocols. Aiden even quickly helped another bike group with a bike chain issue. Great service, great ride, great day!!
Our tour guide Wally was easy going, but safe, and he brought us on a fun and interesting route and gave us interesting information about it. I was with my high school aged son but there was a 10 year old on it who did great and adults of all ages. Very fun way to see DC.
