I gave this a rating of 1 because there is nothing lower. If I could, I would give it a minus five (-5)! We had this tour booked for 1:00 for a group of 6. Almost $600. It is marketed as a 3 hour, 15 stop, walking food tour of Georgetown, in Washington, D.C. Sounded great, we were excited. It was booked about a week ahead of time, and was confirmed. The morning of the tour, about 10:00, they messaged me asking if we could move to the following day. We could not do so because of other commitments. I immediately replied with that information. They replied that they were arranging our tour as scheduled. We ordered a Uber to take us to the meeting point - a $45 trip. We had just arrived when I received a message canceling the tour. THIS WAS 14 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE START TIME!! We were there, ready to go, and had spent $45 to get there. I understand that emergencies do occur, but this was not one. This was simply inexcusably poor business management. Their excuse was that their guides were tightly scheduled. That was certainly a lame excuse, and certainly not our problem. They did refund the cost of the tour, but they declined to cover the $45 for the Uber trip in vain, not to mention any recompense for our disappointment. I would never book with this company again, and I am disappointed in Viator for listing them. I’m considering never using Viator in the future. I hope that Viator will require this company to provide appropriate compensation to us. BEWARE!
