The gondola ride was super romantic, we really enjoy the time. After our guided tour was super interesting. We love Venice
We were given the wrong time and meeting spot for this tour and boat ride. We stood waiting to see our tour guide at the location sent to us the night before (we were told to be there at 3pm), after 10 minutes of waiting we called, they seemed very confused. After getting no response and several phone calls, we were told we had to rush to get to the “correct” location. The lady kept telling us to “hurry hurry” on the phone. After arriving at the location we stood looking for our tour guide, she was on her phone with no indication of a tour. After I asked her name we were sent with a group on a 35 minute Gondola ride. The others in our boat explained that they had the tour at 12:55 and had been alerted the day before with a confirmation phone call of the 12:55 time and location. But they said the tour guide didn’t seem to know or care about what she was doing. This was supposed to be an 1-2 walking tour and gondola ride, we maybe got a 30 minute ride with no direction and horrible costumer service and communication.
The walking tour was very enjoyable and informative. Our tour guide, Andrea, was the best — a true professional. The gondola ride was super disappointing. We did a half circle in the middle of a gondola traffic jam. Not anything like we expected.
The quality of the guide was exceptional. (marina) She was knowledgable local and explained both history and local living facts very well.
