Walking Tour in La Candelaria Bogotá

This was a fantastic and very detailed tour of Colombia, especially the beautiful La Candelaria area. Our guide, Maria, was exceptional. She shared so much fascinating history about Colombia, its rich culture, incredible biodiversity, and even its current social and political situation. Her knowledge and passion made the tour truly engaging. It’s a walking tour, and along the way you’ll also have the opportunity to learn about Colombian coffee and sample a variety of delicious local fruits, which was a wonderful experience. Thank you so much, Maria, for such an informative and memorable tour. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Bogotá!

I am from Bogotá and I know this city; I always wanted to take a tour of La Candelaria to understand more about the history of Bogotá. I was very disappointed by the tour; the Venezuelan guide, although very kind, does not have much of an idea about Bogotá beyond what any person could read on the internet. They had us try fruits and coffee; the fruits were almost rotten, it was noticeable by the state of the peel, and we made stops at spots in La Candelaria that were dirty, smelled bad, and had no special relevance. There were 4 of us from Bogotá and we took the tour with foreigners (Italians, Swiss, and North Americans); it is a shame that they take away such a poor concept of what the center of Bogotá is—nothing interesting, nothing relevant, nothing was said about the architecture, the customs, absolutely nothing. A poor, improvised tour. I am writing this review with the intention that the organizers of this tour improve it 100% or preferably stop offering it.

A very nice experience with our guide, who is both knowledgeable and full of humor. He also prepares the coffee very well before letting us taste it!

It was a great experience. There were unexpected things like the fruit tasting and a lot of interesting information even for me, who am from Colombia. The guide Gerald was very attentive, pleasant, and focused on creating an experience. Definitely a recommended plan for those who enjoy walking and learning beyond the obvious about a city.
