Walking on the Wall: 3-Hour Tour in Berlin

Description
We would have been killed if we had participated in this walking tour 35 years ago! But don't worry, it's not dangerous anymore. However, you can feel a little of the crises in this divided city. And you will know it's more than a "tale of two cities"! It's the story of two different worlds in the middle of the Cold War. Including stories of many people who suffered from these conflicts.

An abandoned bridge in the path of the Berlin Wall.
The Berlin Wall Memorial commemorates the division of Berlin by the Wall and the deaths at the Berlin Wall. The national monument, a 70-meter-long original section of the border fortifications, was rebuilt in 1998 by the Federal Republic of Germany and the state of Berlin on Bernauer Straße (parts of the Wall come from other sections) and later expanded. Today, over a length of 1.4 kilometers on the former border strip, the memorial also includes an outdoor exhibition, the Chapel of Reconciliation, the Berlin Wall Documentation Centre, the Window of Remembrance as well as the visitor centre and an exhibition in the neighbouring Nordbahnhof S-Bahn station.
A park that follows the course of the former Berlin Wall along Schwedter Straße. As a popular local recreation area, the Mauerpark with its flea market and numerous street musicians is one of the most popular sights in Berlin.

This was the best walking tour we did in Berlin. Our guide was knowledgeable, approachable and polite. We learned such a lot.
Recommended. Unusual facts things you wouldn’t necessarily find yourself. Makes the visit to the wall memorial far more interesting and informative.
This was an excellent tour and the guide, Behzad, was very knowledgeable. He took us to key parts of the wall which really helped us understand what it was like. Highly recommend
We booked a guided tour with Behzad yesterday for today. He was really nice and friendly. He was full of knowledge and answered any of our questions. We learned so much more today as he explained everything in fine detail. He had pictures to show to reflect back to past and showed us what Berlin looks like now. We loved the tour and would highly recommend for others to book. Thank you Behzad 👏🏻
We were hugely impressed with our wonderful host. His depth of knowledge and enthusiasm was genuinely first rate. Highly recommended
My son and were fortunate enough to do this tour on our own. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable. The tour probably took longer than it needed to though. Overall it was enjoyable and educational. Learned a lot about the Cold War.
Informative, well structured and interesting tour. Highlight was the section on Park am Nordbahnhof.
This Berlin Wall History Walking Tour was one of the highlights of our trip! We wish we did it at the beginning, instead of the end of our visit to Berlin. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the story of East and West Berlin to life in a way that felt personal, thoughtful, and engaging. Walking along the Wall’s former path and standing where so much history unfolded gave us a deeper understanding of the city and its resilience. The stories, context, and insight made everything we saw far more meaningful. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Berlin. It is impactful, educational, and absolutely worth your time!
The Berlin Walking the Wall tour was excellent, our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable! Nice stop off for a coffee to warm up half way round, would highly recommend
