Native Experience – History and landscapes in 4x4 by Lake Argentino I experienced a half-day excursion in 4x4 vehicles along the coast of Lago Argentino, ideal for the day of arrival or departure. With an anthropological approach, this tour invites you to travel back in time and discover the traces of the first expeditions and the native peoples who inhabited these lands. Between cliffs, viewpoints and unique landscapes, I rediscovered the deep history of Patagonia accompanied by specialized guides. A different experience to connect with the essence of the past in an unrivalled natural environment.

We will take a guided walk and get to know the cave paintings that inhabit there millions of years ago and their history. Then, in one of the caves we visited we will have our lunch or dinner: lamb with country bread, vegetable soup, chocolate mousse and wine to accompany. Then, we return to the hotels accompanied by the view of Lake Argentino.

The beautiful view, the whole Argentine lake, and the food they give you in a cave, also very original. Then there's almost nothing from the former owners of the land, they sell it to you to see paintings, and there's nothing, two hands that you can't even see. It's not worth doing for what it's worth.
I wanted to learn about native history in Argentina. Leandro did a great job sharing his knowledge with our English speaking group. The cave paintings were interesting and I really enjoyed our lunch in the cave, which had a lovely view of Lake Argentina. At lunch I was seated with a family from Buenos Aires and two women from Los Angeles. It was fun sharing stories about our respective countries. Also, at lunch we interacted with all of the guides and each one was delightful!
Sensational!!!! Best experience of the whole trip! I had lunch in the cave, a wonderful meal, overlooking the lake, with dessert, watered to juice wine and very dear people very pleasant the wonderful anthropological visit! There was live tango by one of the participants and it was all amazing! Unpaid! I highly recommend
I contacted Patagonia dream 22 1/2 hours in advance to cancel the activity. I did not have access to Wi-Fi because I was hiking in a remote part of El Chalten in a very bad wind and rain storm. They wouldn’t refund my money for this activity which was $222 Canadian. I would not recommend this company.

Fabulous place. At the top you can see all of Calafate, the Argentine lake and its surroundings. Both at noon and at night it is accompanied by lunch or dinner respectively in a cave. More fascinating is going at night.

This trip will surprise you. The drive takes the group to an overlook of Lago Argentine. Then a short tour of a native people site and their nomadic life is explained. Then off to the cave to enjoy a delicious meal.

We had a great time on the excursion, pity the weather that was very windy and cold, so, preferably do it in the summer. Beyond that, the experience was very good, the guide excellent and the dinner very rich.

The tour is amazing because the landscape is wonderful. Before arriving in the caves a stop to contemplate the beauty of the Argentine lake contrasting with the soil and vegetation, it is already breathtaking! Arriving in the caves the rescue of history and the first inhabitants of the place seduce the visitor. Imperdible!!
