Itinerary
The Wahiba Sands, also known as Sharqiya Sands, is a vast desert region in Oman famous for its towering golden sand dunes that stretch for over 200 kilometers. This desert landscape offers visitors a true Arabian experience — from thrilling 4x4 dune bashing with skilled local drivers to immersing yourself in traditional Bedouin culture. In this tour, travelers get to visit a real Bedouin home, taste Omani coffee and dates, and even try on traditional clothing if they wish. An optional camel ride is also available for those who want to complete the authentic desert experience. The silence of the desert, broken only by the wind and the sound of tires in the sand, makes this stop truly unique. It’s a perfect opportunity for photography and for learning more about Oman’s nomadic heritage. The visit typically lasts around 1 hour, giving enough time to enjoy both adventure and cultural connection before moving on.
Wadi Bani Khalid is one of Oman’s most beautiful and popular natural attractions, located deep within the Eastern Hajar Mountains. This lush oasis is known for its stunning emerald and turquoise pools, dramatic rock formations, and palm-lined walkways. Travelers can relax under the shade, take a dip in the natural pools, or hike up toward hidden waterfalls and cave entrances. The area is family-friendly and easily accessible, offering a mix of relaxation and light adventure. Whether you want to swim, take memorable photos, or simply enjoy the serene natural setting, Wadi Bani Khalid is a must-visit spot that blends nature and tranquility. The surrounding scenery is ideal for nature lovers and photographers alike, and the clear waters offer a refreshing break during the day’s journey. The stop usually lasts around 1.5 hours, giving travelers plenty of time to enjoy the full experience before heading toward the next destination.
The historic village of Al Mudayrib is a charming traditional settlement located in the Ash-Sharqiyah region of Oman. Known for its old mud-brick houses, narrow alleys, and beautifully preserved watchtowers, Mudayrib offers a glimpse into Oman’s cultural and architectural heritage. Travelers will enjoy walking through the village and witnessing how Omani communities lived for generations. One of the highlights is the viewpoint overlooking the town’s palm groves and surrounding desert — perfect for photos. This stop is usually brief, around 15–20 minutes, but it adds a rich cultural layer to the trip. A short tea break is often included here to let guests refresh before continuing the journey back to Muscat. Mudayrib is not just a stop for sightseeing; it’s a pause to appreciate the depth of Omani tradition, simplicity, and hospitality that are still alive in many villages today.

We had an absolutely amazing experience on this desert tour! What was supposed to be a group tour ended up being private, which made the day feel even more special. Our driver was incredibly kind, friendly, and professional, and the car was clean and very comfortable the entire journey. He went above and beyond by taking photos of us throughout the day and sharing them so we didn’t miss a single memory. Driving through the desert was unforgettable, riding a camel was such a fun and unique experience, and swimming in the crystal-clear waters of Wadi Bani Khalid was the perfect highlight. Everything was well-paced and stress-free. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a memorable day in Oman! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
We had the honor of having Abdullah as our guide to explore Oman, especially the Wahiba Sands and Wadi Bani Khalid. He picked us up right at our hotel, and off we went straight into the desert! During the ride, we laughed a lot and learned so much about the life of Omani people and Oman itself. Later, we visited a Bedouin family and were warmly welcomed with several cups of Omani coffee and delicious dates. After that, we enjoyed a wonderful local lunch before getting ready to head to Wadi Bani Khalid. Exploring the area and swimming there was simply amazing, it felt so refreshing! On the way back, all of us travelers dozed off for about an hour in the car, and once we woke up, we continued chatting and laughing together. Abdullah is such a fun, warmhearted person with incredible knowledge, a truly outstanding guide who organized everything perfectly. We will definitely reach out to him again for our next trips to Oman! Oman itself is a stunning country with wonderful people and a beautiful way of life. Absolutely recommended!
