Itinerary
The Seven Pillars of Wisdom - famous landmark, named after the book by T. E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) - is a large rock formation, with seven fluted turrets. James 3:17: “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy"
The Red Sand Dune, also known as Al Ramal or Al Hasany in Arabic, is one of the most famous dunes in the Wadi Rum desert. It's striking red color comes from a high concentration of iron oxide in the sand particles. Challenging to climb but at the top you can enjoy amazing panoramic views of the valley. This area is known as key filming location
You will see Nabatean inscriptions on Wadi Rum desert rock. The Nabateans were an Arab nomadic tribe that settled down in Jordan and parts of Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Israel (fourth century BC – 106 AD). The Nabateans were well known for their skills as water engineers and traders, navigating though the area relying on the maps encrypted in the rocks for centuries.
Lawrence House is a building was erected on the Nabataean ruins of a water cistern. The legend has it that Lawrence stayed here during the Arab Revolt
The Um Fruth Rock Bridge is one of Wadi Rum's most famous spots: a rocky arch molded by wind and water over eons until it looks just like an elevated walkway, 15 meters high.
There are many bizarre rock formation in Wadi Rum. One of them is known Mushroom Rock, standing solely on a red rock plateau, surrounded by red sands of Wadi Rum
Al Barrah Canyon and Bedouin meal cooking experience Al Barrah Canyon is one of the most visited of numerous canyons that riddle Wadi Rum, this 5km-long corridor of rock through the mountains offers opportunities for hiking, camel trekking, climbing or simply napping in the shade and absorbing the special atmosphere of Wadi Rum’s hidden heartland. Here I will introduce to you a traditional Bedouin meal cooking experience, and the desert flora and fauna
Our journey will end at the Wadi Rum Visitors center, where it has started.

We stayed for 2 nights in Desert Secret Camp with Alí, Mohamed and their family and did the Jeep Tour with Mohamed. It was really funny and unforgettable. In the Jeep Tour of 5 hours, Mohamed took us to really nice and magical corners in Wadi Rum. He has a deep knowledge of the desert and is a really peaceful and with a cute sense of humor. He cooked a delicious bedouin food in a really nice place, where we were surrounded by camels and baby camels, it was great. The most important thing for us was to find an authentic small family, quite and cozy Bedouin place where to stay with special people who showed us their passion for the desert and for their culture, we wanted a quiet place where to feel the Bedouin hospitality, where to feel at home, where to feel one of them and where to know all the secrets from the desert. Desert Secret Camp far exceeded our expectations and we had a unique and unforgettable experience for a lifetime, first with Mohamed on the fantastic and gorgeous Jeep Tour and in the camp with Ali, Mohamed and the rest of his family in the small and charming camp hidden among the jebels. Enjoying traditional Bedouin food (Mansaf) and get involved in making it with their family, sitting by the fire telling us stories drinking tea and coffee, enjoying the spectacular sunset from the top rocks of the camp and touching the stars at night from the wooden porch of our room. Gorgeous atmosphere with hand made Bedouin traditional decoration and private bathrooms in the rooms... There are no words to explain how special and unique was our experience at Desert Secret Camp (in the past it was named The Second Time Bedouin Camp). For us to travel is much more than visiting places, so is even much important who you share with these kind unique moments in your life, Desert Secret Camp makes the difference in this, it is not what you visit but who you visit and share the experience with. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, Mohamed, Alí & Family
Reading your words brings us real joy and touches our hearts. Thank you for choosing to share these days with our family. It means so much that you were looking for something authentic and quiet — and that you found it with us. Mohamed has smiled when he read this. Showing the hidden corners of Wadi Rum, cooking in the open desert, and sharing stories by the fire is not just a tour for us — it is our family life. The moments of making Mansaf together, watching the sunset from the rocks, and stories by the fire are the memories we treasure. You came as guests and left as friends. Our camp Wadi Rum Desert Secret will always be your home in the desert.
We had an extraordinary afternoon with Mohammed. We had arranged with him to meet in the afternoon so we could enjoy the sunset in the desert. Mohammed is not a guide like any other—we didn’t just experience the wonders of Wadi Rum, we also took the time to discover his life in the desert, his family, his secret favorite spots, and his mindset. We will always remember this wonderful encounter and can only warmly recommend reaching out to them for a tour or a place to stay. Hopefully, we’ll see each other again someday. مع السلامة!
Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your experience with my brother Mohammed in the Wadi Rum. We are truly happy that you enjoyed not only the beauty of the desert but also a glimpse into our Bedouin way of life. Mohammed takes great pride in offering guests not just a tour, but a meaningful connection with the land, our traditions, and our family stories. On behalf of all of us at Wadi Rum Desert Secret Camp, I want to say you are always welcome back—whether for another unforgettable sunset or simply to feel at home in the desert once more. With warm regards,
Absolute blast experience with tour guide Ali. He was very welcoming and made sure visitors got to see the beauty and of how life is on desert of Wadi rum. Ali's car has a sunroof and cold water available. He also gave plenty of time for me to explore and take photos at certain spots. Cooking meal also reminded me to be thankful and humble. Ali took fun photos for me and I am happy that he did. I didn't have time to stay for the night experience, but the camp is at a quiet remote place surrounded by gorgeous Wadi rum rocks. I would go on the tour again with Ali when I come back to Wadi rum.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're so glad you had a great time and we’ll be here to welcome you back whenever you're ready for the full overnight adventure!
Ali and his team were accomodating, kind and seemed very experienced in tourism and dessert life. I can let the photos speak for themslves... We managed to see a lot of the desert, it's spotlights, climb some of the rocks/mountains and hear stories about those spots or traditional cultural knowledge. I have travelled through main Jordan spots but this experience will stay with me for a while if not a lifetime:) We additionally went for a camel ride literally to the sunset!
Thank you so much for your sincere review! Next time, we’d love to welcome you to our new Wadi Rum Desert Secret Bedouin camp for an even more unique desert experience!
