Unexpected

On holiday in Saranda the friends of the place propose to visit it, a beautiful village of Ottoman origin, stone houses under the protection of UNESCO, many bars restaurants, a very small open-air bazaar as a center, a beautiful mosque and castle overlooking the village, crowded as it should be, there is a convenient underground parking in the square and also cheap, of course expensive restaurants but the bazaars have prices let's say normal take the ceramics are beautiful, to eat well and spend little go nearby where the locals go if you are lazy stay there at the bazaar Visit successful, ah I forgot it's very hot compared to saranda

A unique marvel in the mountains

Gjitokaster is a true matvel and so rich in history from the narrow alleys to the statues to the castle. And the views are breathtaking. Albania is such an underappreciated country. Its still so natural in many places and the landscape is fantastic. Our driver Sula was great and our tourguide Dennis was very knowledgeable all along the way to Gjirokaster and when visiting the town.

Do not miss... a blast from the past

As soon as we arrived it seemed almost insignificant, instead the visit to the fortress was interesting, but the real surprise was the characteristic town center, full of bazaars and small rooms that overlook the streets to walk and where you can breathe air of yesteryear...

Your satisfaction is the joy of our work.

Great place to stay

Stayed at the Boutique Hotel Musee with the very accommodating host Will. Very clean property with friendly, generous staff who really make you welcome. Stunning balcony to sit and enjoy an espresso and Raki or delicious local breakfast. Close to the bazaar and old town with a short walk to the Castle.

Unmissable!

Absolutely amazing! An hour is enough to take a walk, the colors of the carpets and pottery, the smells of the artisan soaps, the elegant rooms and a wonderful castle in a huge complex that overlooks everything make this village unmissable.

Unscheduled trip

Characteristic and evocative, with its narrow streets, the historic center and the dominant castle, Gjirokaster lets you enter a part of history and tradition. Here you can find numerous typical and characteristic restaurants, local craft and souvenir shops. The local people are welcoming and kind. The evocative castle takes you back to an important part of history. Excellent trip if you want to vary from the splendid sea landscape and beaches that this part of Albania offers. The road from Dhermi to Gjirokastra is suggestive. A small San Giminiano Albanese.

Charming town!

Gjirokastra is a charming town full of small places to eat and shops. We loved the style of the buildings and the ambiance. We had the chance to visit the castle as well. The castle was very cool to see. The drive to Gjirokastra from Sarande is pretty long and there is not much along the road until getting to the City; otherwise, it was great.

Thank you for the impression you left, we would be happy to rate your experience with our staff and not the place you visited.

One of the most beautiful cities in Albania

One of the most beautiful cities in Albania. In this nation, where nature is beautiful and people are lovely, the real problem is the destruction of old cities and the creation of eco-combusters, in the name of an unclear "modernity" or "luxury". But here, thanks to a programme perhaps linked to the World Bank, the obligation of the conservation and restoration of the existing has allowed this city to keep its ancient part beautiful. Even staying there a couple of days makes sense (I recommend the Prague hotel, not on Tripadvisor and a restaurant, run by a nice couple, fast food-looking but actually has excellent local cuisine "Traditional &healthy" by A.Muço). When visiting the castle do not go to the museum, wasted time. Must see instead the fantastic house Skenduli.

OKKIO TO THE CLIMBS

City organized but all uphill, I visited it on Sunday where in the middle of a climb you are forced to park your vehicle, At the entrance of the city are doing major road works (Probably a new complex) The city is very nice organized and full of tourists but be careful All uphill to get to the castle is not very simple .. Inquire before visiting because there are many things to see including the old bridge the old town war bunker and of course the toll booth itself
