VIP Private Road to Hana and Haleakala Sunset Tour

We did the VIP Private Road to Hana and Haleakala Sunset tour with Levi at Experience Hawaii Tours. What a GREAT day!! Levi was a careful driver and I was happy to have him driving us , particularly on the Road to Hana. If you have never been there, it's a crazy windy road with lots of one-way sections. You definitely need to know the road to drive it! We made lots of stops, including one to jump at a waterfall! This was definitely one of the highlights for us. It was a long jump and the water was a bit chilly, but we all loved it! Sunset at Haleakala is a MUST-DO when in Maui. To enjoy a sunset above the clouds (while on the ground and not in a plane!) was something we will probably never experience again. It was absolutely breathtaking. We were there the weekend of July 4th, which was busy, and Levi made sure to get us up there early enough to get parking. We had time to walk around and then find great seats for the best sunset we've ever experienced!

I have never in my life experienced a more perfect trip!!!! This was a once in a lifetime trip with a multigenerational family!!!! Levi and Seth were absolutely perfect in every single way!!!! Kind, engaged, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, entertaining, and made every single moment of the day perfect!!!!! I have travelled all over the world and I have never written a review but everything about our experience told me I needed to!!!! If you ever get the chance to travel the Road to Hana with this spectacular group and get so lucky to have Levi and Seth you are winning!!!! Take the trip!!!! Go on the excursion! And make a beautiful memory!!! YOLO!!!!!!

Just did the road to Hana tour with Levi and he was the best. He made the drive seem easy, was knowledgeable and super funny! I’d definitely ask for him for another tour!

Highly recommend Experience Hawaii Tours! Our family had a fantastic day on the Road to Hana. Our kids, ages 11 and 13, loved that Connor took the time to learn what each of us enjoyed and tailored the day to our family. One of their favorite moments was jumping off a waterfall. We visited the black sand beach, and enjoyed Aunty Sandy's famous banana bread. The day never felt rushed, and Connor made everything easy and enjoyable. Michael, the owner, was very helpful before the tour and shared great recommendations for the rest of our Maui trip. It was clear he genuinely cared about making our vacation memorable. The SUV was spotless, the service was exceptional, and the experience was seamless from hotel pickup to drop-off. One of the highlights of our trip. Five stars!

This tour was very informative and beautiful! My wish was to see sea turtles and our guide Michael took us to see them even though theres not a guarantee. He showed us so much. We truly had the best tour and highly recommend him and the company to everyone

But if you’re LUCKY enough to experience the latter… you don’t just see Maui… you feel it. And you take home something far more than photos… you take home moments that stay with you long after the sun sets. Levi came to Maui on vacation once… and never left. He sold his plane ticket and built a life here. After yesterday, I understand why… The Road to Hana isn’t just a drive…it’s an experience that unfolds one breathtaking moment at a time. Waterfalls you don’t just look at… you swim thru them and showe under them. Climb them. Jump from them like you’re 20 years old again and fearless. Hidden caves that feel like you’ve stepped into another world… volcanic black sand beaches that don’t even look real… lush, untamed beauty around every single turn. And then… the moments you never could have planned. Pulling over for warm banana bread from a roadside stand. Homemade chocolates that feel like a secret only locals know … so good I actually proposed to the man making them! Exotic fruits picked right there, handed to you with a “try this.” And even shampoo picked from the trees Levi style…bc apparently that’s just a normal Friday in Levi’s world. lunch… an unforgettable, messy, perfect picnic style kind of lunch of smoked pork ribs and corn on the cob, eaten like you have nowhere else to be and all the time in the world. Shared with maybe the best part…the stories. The kind that make you laugh, pause, and realize you’re sitting with someone who chose a different kind of life and never looked back. And sharing it all with my best friend of 40 years…the kind of friendship that just gets it without needing to say a word…clearly a bucket list score!! We ended the day above the clouds, watching the sun melt into the sky at Haleakalā completely in awe. Somewhere between the waterfalls, the laughter, and the stories… something shifted. We stopped thinking. We stopped planning. We just were…And now I get it. Why someone would come here for a trip…sell their plane ticket…and leave it all behind… Because life, lived like this…present, wild, unhurried… feels exactly the way it’s supposed to be. Our guide Levi gave us one of the best days of our entire Maui trip. Each of my kids said it was their favorite day on the entire vacation. He took us to so many low-key, under-the-radar spots we never would have found on our own. We captured beautiful photos, we jumped off cliffs into waterfalls, explored incredible areas away from crowds, and ate an awesome Mexican lunch at Orale Tacos along the way. What really stood out was how natural the whole day felt. Levi is super friendly and great with kids, and by the end it felt like we were just exploring with a friend, not on a tour. He was flexible, easygoing, and really paid attention to what our family wanted to do. He was so knowledgeable about Maui and taught us so much along the way. I would recommend this tour without hesitation, especially for families. It was a highlight of our trip and we can’t wait to visit again.

Breathtaking scenery! Donovan was a great guide. He shared a ton of interesting information along the whole route. It’s a very winding, and at times, a very narrow one car width road. Donovan was very considerate and suggested I sit in the front for the “windiest part”. (I have vertigo but had zero issues.) Weather can vary. Bring a light jacket and good walking shoes. You’ll have a fantastic experience!

I own a travel company and tour for a living. This was THE BEST guided tour we have ever done, PERIOD. I brought my staff to Maui and booked this tour for 9 people. We had two Suburbans and two guides, Luke and Spencer. They were phenomenal! The guys were engaging, personable, knowledgeable and thought of all the little things that make a tour special, which included snacks, drinks and hot tea while we were watching the sunset at Haleaka.
