The artistic conception giving ground to the musical sequence of overtures, arias, duets, movements of symphonies and concerts offers powerful insight in the titanic works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Performers The Vienna Mozart Orchestra includes 30 musicians from the best Viennese orchestras; 2 opera singers (soprano and baritone) from the Vienna State Opera and Volksopera; and 1 soloist for piano, violin and flute. Orchestra, conductor and singers perform in period costumes Formerly the winter residence of the Habsburgs, the Hofburg has a unique situation among the great festive halls in Vienna. It was here that the Emperor entertained his guests. Modern technical systems, such as air-conditioning have been successfully integrated into this magnificent hall. History of the Vienna Mozart Orchestra The Vienna Mozart Orchestra was founded in 1986 by musicians from the best and most famous Viennese orchestras and from various chambers music ensembles. The artists all shared the aim of preserving the musical tradition and the cultural of Vienna by dedicating themselves to the cultivation and representation of symphonic chamber music of the Viennese Classical Period. As the name Vienna Mozart Orchestra implies, the 30 musicians devote themselves exclusively to the works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the most accomplished representative of that period who, though born in Salzburg, found his home in Vienna. The orchestra's repertoire ranges from all of Mozart's symphonies to a great variety of his instrumental concertos (for violin, piano and wind) to arias and duets from his most famous operas. Below is an example of one of the 80 different programs: WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART "Don Giovanni", K. 527 Overture Duettino Zerlina - Don Giovanni La ci darem la mano Donna Elvira's aria: Mi tradi Don Giovanni's aria: Finch' han dal vino Posthorn-Serenade, D Major, K 320 6th movement: Menuetto Violin concerto No. 5 A Major, K. 219 1st movement: Allegro aperto 2nd movement: Adagio 3rd movement: Rondo, Tempo di Menuetto * * * * I N T E R V A L * * * * "The Marriage of Figaro", K. 492 Overture The Count's aria: Hai gia vinta la causa! Very special

We booked 4 seats to watch a Mozart opera performance which was great. The building itself is magnificent and opened in 1869 - they don’t build buildings like this anymore! Pre dinner drinks are served in a grand hall with tall ceilings and chandeliers / as a tip You can pre order drinks and snacks to be ready in an assigned table for the interval - we ordered a bottle of (rather average) champagne at E$175 and a few horsdouvres but with a 30 min interval including the time it gets from your seat to the bar and back, we only had time to drink half of it, so don’t make the same mistake we did! The views inside are wonderful and the performance was fabulous - we were able to tag along with an iPad style translator screen which ensured we understood what was going on. Tip? Book well in advance to get the seats you want - while they were still selling seats on the day of performance it was a sell out come curtains up!

A great place to stay and relax.

I went in to find a ticket to the show tonight. Don't you dare buy a ticket from the men wearing red suits out there. Buy a ticket only inside the building at the ticket office. There is a nice, quiet coffee shop. I took some pictures of the tradition of entering the opera house. Very impressive. The show lasts two to three hours, including an opera and orchestra ballet.

Good time had by all

Orchestra and singers in period costumes. No electonic sound system making it the way audiences experienced it in Mozarts time. A novel experience i thoroughly enjoyed.

Tedious, but worth the tour

We did the opera house tour. It is worth it to see the inside of the building, but the tour was rather long and would be more enjoyable if shorter. It was very crowded as well. We were glad we got tickets on-line

Operator response

We are sorry that our concert did not meet your expectations. Our goal is to offer a special evening and a lasting experience for our guests. We take every constructive criticism to heart and hope you will visit us again in the future to change your mind.

Mozart in the Brahms Hall – A Brilliant Orchestra and an Inspiring Conductor

It was a pleasure to experience Mozart`s music in the elegant Brahms Hall. The orchestra played with great skill, and the conductor Andras Deak was engaging and even gave his baton to the audience at the end.

Operator response
