Vespa Self Guided Tour Around Luccas Countryside

Description
Discover the countryside of Lucca riding a Vespa 125 Primavera. The iconic scooter, in its most modern version, offers the perfect means to explore the natural surroundings of the city. We offer two different itineraries, one heading north towards Montecarlo, and one heading south towards the Lake of Massaciuccoli. After a little briefing, we'll provide an itinerary to follow on Google Maps and offer some suggestions of spots where to stop for lunch and things to see along the way. You can also choose to stop for a picnic at our partner winery or have an olive oil tasting in a local mill. In this self-tour type of experience, we encourage the visitors to take their time, enjoying this beautiful region at their own pace. On a Vespa, the trip is just as important as the destination. Please note that experience in driving scooters/motorcycles is mandatory. If the customer shouldn't have this, we reserve the right to deny rental for safety reasons, and there won't be a refund.

Itinerary
The countryside around Lucca, rich with olive groves, typical Tuscan landscapes and countless historical villas, offers the perfect setting for a day exploring aboard a Vespa.
The neo-classical aqueduct of Nottolini, with it's suggestive arches, a testimony to the wealth and ingenuity of the Lucchesi people.
Our personal favorite ice cream parlor in town. Ingredients are carefully selected (keeping in mind seasonality), and all products are made with the highest attention to detail. It's an optional stop, but one we highly recommend. (Opening Hours: 11:30 AM - 08:30 PM, closed on Monday)
Using the church as point of reference, we'll be visiting the settlements of Gattaiola and Meati. Their narrow roads and lush vegetation make this part of town an amazing and characteristic area to drive through.
The Oasi LIPU is a protected sanctuary for many species of birds and animals, open to the public for free (you can leave an offer to help sustain their work). The sanctuary can visited on foot walking on wooden stilts that extend over the lake, zigzagging between the flora of the lake.
The lake of Massaciuccoli is home to a variety of wildlife, including a number of migrative birds. The composer Giacomo Puccini used to wander around it, searching for inspiration, so much so that one of the towns on the lake was named after him.

We had such a great experience. The Vespa was in great shape, the people knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations. One of the funnest things we did on our 2 week trip to Italy!
Well organized, route supplied for your phone, bring a long charging cord as USB port on the Vespa is a bit of a reach.
The girls thought this ride would be more countryside and less city, so we were a bit nervous. But, the guys loved it. So, it just depends on your expectations. But, there were options to go to the Mediterranean. We just didn’t have as much time to do that.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Well instructed, nice thought about the route to drive. Beautiful new scooters, had a lovely day
An unforgettable experience! Cruising through the stunning Tuscan hills around Lucca on a Vespa with my family was simply magical. The views were breathtaking, the roads peaceful, and the whole adventure felt like a movie. The team was incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming — they made everything easy and enjoyable from start to finish. Thank you for helping us create such beautiful memories — we’ll cherish this day forever! Matt
Absolutely a great adventure. Took a solo trip to visit Montecarlo. Beautiful roads/scenery/sites. My goal was to experience Lucca beyond the walls and this was perfect. What a fantastic day. And Drive the Vintage makes it easy, they provide easy to follow maps and recommendations. Highly, highly recommend.
We rented a Vespa for three days at the end of April. The staff were absolutely excellent, very friendly and helpful. On our last day, they arranged for us to have a private winery tour and picnic lunch. It was the perfect way to end our holiday in Tuscany. We would highly recommend.
Thank you for your kind words! It was a pleasure having you with us!
