Itinerary
Cannaregio offers a glimpse into the everyday life of Venice, where wide canal-side paths are lined with bustling local eateries and the city's last remaining traditional workshops. This northern district provides a tranquil retreat from the crowded landmarks, showcasing a charming mix of grand waterfront estates and serene back alleys that reveal the city's authentic character.
Dating back to 1516, this historic precinct is famous for its unique vertical architecture, featuring some of the tallest residential structures in Venice built to accommodate a restricted population. It stands today as a powerful site of memory and culture, where a cluster of centuries-old synagogues serves as a lasting tribute to the community’s deep-rooted history and artistic contributions to the Republic.
Enhance your visit by choosing the Synagogues access option and you will be able to visit two of the Synagogues in Venice.

Guide was very nice but we really wanted to learn more about the Jewish history and life in Venice but she focused more on architecture. So we really didn’t get what we wanted from the tour.
