Santa Maria della Salute (or Salute Church or simply La Salute) is a basilica in Venice erected in the area of Punta della Dogana, from where it stands out in the panorama of St. Mark's Basin and the Grand Canal. Designed by Baldassare Longhena with attention to Palladio's models, it is one of the best expressions of Venetian Baroque architecture. Its construction represents an ex voto to the Madonna by Venetians for deliverance from the Plague that decimated the population between 1630 and 1631. The cult became so deeply rooted in Venice that the Virgin Mary was added to the list of patron saints of the city of Venice.

Pass by

The Island of San Giorgio Maggiore is a small island, located opposite St. Mark's Square in Venice. Separated from the island of Giudecca by the small canale della Grazia, it is also washed by the Giudecca Canal, the San Marco Basin, the San Marco Canal, and, to the south, the lagoon; it is part of the sestiere of San Marco.

Pass by

San Lazzaro degli Armeniè a small island in the Venice lagoon, located near the west coast of the Venice Lido and completely occupied by a monastery, the mother house of the Mekhitarist Order. The island is one of the world's first centers of Armenian culture.

Pass by

St. Mark's Square, is one of the most important monumental squares in the world, renowned all over the planet for its beauty and architectural integrity. It is also known as “The Drawing Room of Europe” or “The Piazza.” It is the only urban space in Venice that properly takes the name “piazza,” as all other spaces in the form of a square are properly called “campi.” One of the wonders of humanity.

Pass by

The Lido of Venice is a thin island stretching about 12 km between the Venetian lagoon and the Adriatic Sea, bounded by the ports of San Nicolò and Malamocco and connected to the city and the mainland only by scheduled waterbuses and motor rafts for transporting vehicles. About 12.2 km long, it is one of the few islands in the lagoon on which there are carriage roads; there is also a small tourist airport. It is famous for its beautiful beach, wonderful Art Nouveau villas from the 1900s and the Film Festival where film stars from all over the world attend every year.

Pass by

Le Vignole is a small island in the Venice Lagoon inhabited by only 54 people. It is known as one of Venice's vegetable gardens. Here Venetians go to spend happy days of rest by boat. It is most famous for the prodizione of artichokes called “castraure” that can be eaten raw!

Pass by

The Venice Arsenal is an ancient complex of shipyards and workshops that makes up a very large part of the island city of Venice at its eastern end. It was the heart of the Venetian shipbuilding industry from the 12th century onward and is linked to the most prosperous period in the life of the Serenissima: thanks to the imposing ships built here, the Venetian Republic was able to dominate the Mediterranean and gain a monopoly on trade with the East Surrounded by 3 km of crenellated red-brick walls, it employed a maximum of 16. 000 people at the height of its operation and can be considered, due to its size, age and the ingenuity of its design and operation (ships were built here on an assembly line since the 16th century) as one of the first true industrial complexes in Europe.

Pass by

The Venice Lagoon is the largest lagoon in the Mediterranean Sea A place of rare beauty, it offers unique sensations and atmospheres in every season. The entire territory was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987. The Venice lagoon cannot be told, it can only be experienced!

Nice, slow paced experience. Very enjoyable.

Nice peaceful experience. Our guide was excellent and very passionate about his city. You’ll visit other islands and learn a little about the history. Waves can get a little bumpy but it’s very safe.

A lovely way to enjoy the Lagoon

We had a lovely boat ride around the lagoon on our first night in Venice. Our skipper Tommaso shared his knowledge of the lagoon with us, and we made some new friends while we all sipped Prosecco.

Tomaso the Great!

Tomaso is a local born and bred Venetian. The amount of information he has is so informative that is like you are in a history class as well. An amazing positive personality, there is no way you won’t have a great time.

An unforgettable experience.

Leonardo has been a fantastic guide; he explained many things about the history of the Venetian lagoon to us. We toured its islands for an hour and a half, enhancing the experience with a glass of prosecco. Totally recommended!
