Best views of Venice and on a hot summer day you get a refreshing sea breeze. Only accessible by elevator so anyone can access it. A must to do while in Venice
Our guide, Gina, was an absolute delight! Super knowledgeable, as well as so personable. Loved being in the bell tower with her listening to her explain the history or background about everything we could see. Plus, she tailored the rest of the tour to our preferences. Grazie mille!
When in Venice Italy be sure to not miss going up the tower in St. Marks square. This is one of the very few towers in all of Italy that has a elevator to take you to the top. A tremendous view can be seen from up top. And for a added bonus you can skip the long line if you buy your ticket online in advance !
I had initially booked this tour for 10:00 a.m., however it had to be changed to a different time slot because the initial guide was off sick. I was notified promptly about the situation by the team and was offered another time-slot or a full refund. I proceeded with the option for a different time and we were given another tour guide, Diane, who was absolutely phenomenal! I also appreciated the fact that I was given reminders about the upcoming tour and detailed directions of where to meet the guide twice before the tour started! This was not the first time we have visited Venice and we explained to our guide Diane that we wanted a more relaxed tour with some more in-depth information since we have had some generalized walking tours before. Diane quickly accommodated our request and directed us through some interesting spots in the city that have a quirky history, such as; the spot of Giustina Rossi who on June 15, 1310, dropped her grinding mortar on the head of the rebellion's flag bearer. Or the Alliance Française building which promotes French language and culture around the world through an international network of offices. The seat of the Association is housed in the Casino (little house) Vernier, one of the most characteristic buildings of this type, a 'ridotto' for playing games and meetings owned by the prosecutor Venier but mainly used by his wife, Elena Priuli, a cultured and refined noblewoman. Diane accompanied visits to these interesting sites with numerous photos and detailed contextual explanations. I traveled with my parents who have numerous health issues which requires frequent rest. Diane was very accommodating to their needs and incorporated frequent rest stops. My mother had asked to see the famed Scala Contarini del Bovolo. Diane took us to the staircase and provided some history about the site and allowed my parents to rest while sitting in the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo while my brother and I climbed the steps. It was so much fun and very considerate of her to quickly provide such a unique experience that catered to all of our needs. Finally, Diane brought us to St. Mark's Bell Tower and took pictures of our family! She was very generous, friendly, informative, helpful, hospitable, and kind! We learned a lot and really enjoyed our tour guide and the team who managed our booking behind the scenes! I would absolutely recommend this excursion and our guide Diane to anyone who is interested!
Our guide Lucia was delightful! She guided us through the maze of Venice effortlessly and showed us places we had completely missed on our own! The bell tower was the perfect end to a great tour.
