They did not show up so we were stranded in the rain ! Currently trying to arrange other transportation. This is the worse experience I’ve had with Vaitar or any travel company- never again
We wouldn’t have made it into Venice without our guide there to save us and help us get from the port into the city and to our hotel. She was so lovely, helpful, and stayed with us until we were at our hotel.
Be careful before booking! Cruise ships coming in to Venice must go to ports outside the city - Fusina or Chioggia. This is not a service that picks you up at either of those places. Our Viking ship docked at Fusina and I reached out to see if we could get a water taxi from the dock in Fusina to our hotel in Venice. They booked it, never mentioning that they didn't come to Fusina, and said they would meet us at the cruise terminal. Never having been to Venice, we did not realize that the cruise terminal they meant is a 20+ minute drive from Fusina. We had to scramble to get Viking to shuttle us to the cruise port. To make matters worse, because they gave us no clear meeting point, our shuttle driver directed us to the wrong spot, and our water taxi never came. Two phone calls to the taxi service and an hour and a half later, they repeatedly told us they were coming, but went to a different location from us. No attempts to find us, or clarify where we were waiting on their end, so we ended up taking public transportation. Although Viator responded to our request we were not able to get a full refund. If you choose to use this service, make sure you know exactly what you are getting, know that it's very over-priced (we learned later from our hotel). and be prepared to contact them, because they will not contact you.
Short trip from San Basilio terminal for smaller ships to our hotel. Gentleman was waiting at the terminal with our sign and smoothly moved our luggage to the dock for the water taxi. Took all of 15 or 20 minutes.
There was nobody waiting at the terminal with a sign and it took multiple phone calls to get an answer at the office of the company. Also took a bit to find out where we were supposed to go without the initial point of contact. A water taxi would have been cheaper and quicker.
Both Fredriko & our driver were kind so knowledgeable. Both had a great sense of humor and love of country. Thank them for making our trip to Venice so memorable.
Due to the film festival, it took over an hour for them to pick us up. Once they arrived the driver was professional and courteous. He took us exactly where we needed to go.
Person there to meet us but we waited 45 minutes for water taxi- representative didn’t call until another group came that had booked a water taxi so additional time was incurred. The drop off was very difficult for us to drag bags to the hotel- options should have been given.
Only stressful part was not clearly knowing where we would meet the Transfer. But it turned out to be very simple and they were waiting for us when we exited to the Cruise terminal. It was a easy experience.
Info from Viator said someone would be at the cruise terminal. We waited until our pickup time. When no one showed, it turns out we had to go to the water taxi doc, which was 2 blocks away. We had to wait another 30 minutes for our taxi. Better info would have helped.
