Starting in campo San Bartolomeo this atmospheric walking tour will allow you to discover the hidden corners of Venice, away from the crowds, accompanied by tales of mystery, murder and superstition. A qualified guide will walk you through the winding streets, eerie squares and suggestive locations, telling secrets of Venice gone by and tales of the unexpected.
The tour starts with a hidden square, off of the beaten track, where tales of murder and mystery accompany this evening experience of Venice. Walking through the Castello area, you will discover anecdotes of Venetian Doges, noblemen and unrequited love, learn about the ghostly sounds to be heard outside of the Malibran theatre and tales of tragic deaths, whilst strolling through the darkened alleys. Heading over to campo SS Giovanni and Paolo, learn the story behind the graffitti on one of the most famous buildings in Venice, and then stroll along the windy and foreboding Fondamenta Nuova, located opposite the cemetary, and discover the story of the unburied child that is said to still be seen in the murkey lagoon.
An authentic walking tour covering areas of Venice after dark, hidden squares and darkened alleys, that otherwise you might not have the courage to visit. The tour concludes in the Cannaregio area, and the guide will be able to provide you with directions on how best to return to your preferred destination.

I don't think I'll ever go back. Too chaotic, confusing, you can not not enjoy the view of the monuments and / or most important views, you just can not see them! What a change from 1981, my first visit. Exaggerated prices on souvenirs, breakfast, gondolas that even go around only a few blocks, etc. Only lunches and / or dinners, were adequate. In the evening, emptied by tourists, the center of Venice appears dark, gloomy, all closed and melancholy.

Fortunately the walking ghost tour made up for our disappointment in the gondola ride. Had we realised we would be sharing a gondola we would have just booked the tour. But the tour itself was brilliant and informative with our guide providing a commentary for the entire time

Very hard to find the guide, stories were okay- more legend than scary, decent walk around the city- ended early so didn’t feel overall delivery of what was advertised.

This was ok. The night gondola was amazing, but then you had to wait 1.5 hours for the tour, missing dinner time. There were a few interesting story but most were about dying babies. Moral of the tour, babies cry. Also, this has ALOT of hard walking, after your day of wandering Venice.

The guide was very knowledgeble, But was visibly nervous and talked very fast with little engagement. Interisting facts, but we were hoping for a more macabre stories told with more entusiasme.

The stories were interesting as well as spooky and set in venice at dusk you can just imagine it all happening. The guide brought everything to life with enthusiasm

We really liked this tour, it was well organised and Giulia was very sweet and knowledgable. The stories were sad, scary and also funny, and we saw many parts of Venice we had not seen before. Definitely recommend!
