Itinerary
Join us for an unforgettable tour of the Cannaregio Quarter in Venice! Your passionate, English-speaking guide will meet you near the iconic Teatro Italia, a symbol of Venice's rich artistic heritage. In an intimate group of no more than 10 people, you’ll explore the enchanting hidden alleys of Cannaregio, stopping at 4 carefully selected eateries to enjoy 10 tastings.
When exploring Venice, keep two key words in mind—cicchetti and Bacari. Cicchetti are delicious bite-sized snacks, and Bacari are charming local wine bars where these treats are served. At our first stop, your expert guide will take you into a traditional Bacaro, where you'll enjoy cicchetti and discover the secret ingredients behind crafting the perfect Venetian Select Spritz.
After a short stroll through the charming Cannaregio neighborhood, we’ll arrive at our second stop. Here, you'll taste another round of locally crafted cicchetti. Alongside, enjoy a glass of ‘ombra’, a classic Venetian wine, as your guide shares fascinating insights into Italian traditions and culture.
Next, we’ll make our way through the bustling Strada Nuova, a vibrant street filled with shops, bars, and historic buildings—a must-see on any Venice food tour.
At our fourth stop, fully immerse yourself in the warmth of Venetian hospitality. Enjoy a delicious sit-down meal featuring some of Venice’s finest traditional dishes—choose between pasta with squid ink, battered codfish and polenta, or parmigiana alla melanzana. Let the rich flavors unfold with each bite. This stop isn’t just about the food—it’s your chance to truly experience Venice’s culinary soul in the most authentic way possible.
No Italian food tour is truly complete without artisanal gelato! At our fourth stop, your guide will take you to a top gelato shop, where you'll discover the secrets behind authentic gelato. Learn about seasonal flavors, what sets gelato apart from regular ice cream, and put your taste buds to the test sampling 2 delicious scoops.
As the tour wraps up near the charming Rialto Bridge, your guide will be happy to share insider tips on other must-visit spots or advise on where to grab a water taxi back to your hotel.

Hi Katie, Thank you so much for the fantastic review. We are so happy to hear you had such a wonderful time on our evening food tour. It is always great when a tour brings a mix of people together to share good food and drinks, and we are thrilled our guide made it such a fun experience for everyone. Thank you for exploring Venice with us, and we hope to welcome you back for another delicious adventure in the future.
Irene is the BEST!! We enjoyed every stop and the chance to try foods that were new to us. Thank you, Irene, for all the history along the way. Your stories helped us learn about Venice and appreciate the culture that has survived centuries.
What a fun experience!!!! Loved trying some new things and all the drinks were delicious! Irene was amazing! Very personable, knowledgeable and fun. So glad we did this tour!
Guide Chantal was wonderful. Very outgoing and easy to talk to. Be prepared for a fair amount of walking. All the food was excellent. Lots of seafood but other options offered if you’re not a seafood eater.
Very nice experience. Different types of food. we could not find the location. It’s very difficult for us. The tour guide waited for us as long as she could try to direct us all along the way we eventually met up at the second stop. It was all completely positive experience once we got there.
We enjoyed this experience. We had 9 tasting across four stops. Our guide, Daria, was lovely. One warning , however, many of the selections are shellfish based, including the dinner, clam risotto.
Daria was so welcoming and gave us a true Venice experience. She was fantastic!
I have taken this tour on a prior trip which was phenomenal and better than anticipated. Unfortunately, this time I was completely underwhelmed with the tour itself where all the iconic spots were not visited., as specified in the booking. First off, I was notified that the tour time was delayed by an hour by email, when I accepted the change all further notifications arrived by my WhatsApp with a different heading. I assume Viator had handed the booking off to the tour company assigned locally.....Its a good thing i am vigilant... While every area in Venice is beautiful, the places we paused at were mostly where our guide grew up near.... This was not a foodie experience nor a fair tour of significant Venice stops as advertised. We experienced a 'tasting' tour of the cheapest possible menu items at every stop vs my first experience where the food and drinks were plentiful and the staff at every stop were part of the expereince.. Our sit down dinner was undercooked risotto with four tiny clams thats it...we expected several Venetian dishes that were advertised in the Viator app. We certainly could have spent the same amount of money for an amazing meal elsewhere. This is not Okay with me.
Hi June, Thank you for coming back to take our tour again, though I am so incredibly sorry to hear that this second experience fell so short of your first one. I completely understand your disappointment, especially since you knew firsthand just how wonderful and generous the tour can be. It sounds like we missed the mark on both the communication front and the food quality you rightly expected. We pride ourselves on showcasing authentic, plentiful Venetian dishes and making sure the scheduling is seamless, so hearing that the stops felt cut corners and that the risotto was undercooked is deeply concerning. I will be addressing this directly with our local team and the partner restaurants in Venice to ensure our standards haven't slipped. We want every guest to leave full and happy, and I am so sorry we let you down this time. I would love the chance to look into your booking and make things right for you. Please reach out to our customer support team directly with your details so we can assist you further.
