For the most part, it was okay. The fact that we didnt see much whales was very disappointing. We saw 2 -3 tales but that was it. Definitely not like it is advertised. Very disappointing especially because I had 6 other people with me with lots of expectations.
We saw Orcas, seals and Humpback whales. Super clean boat with whale specialists and a photographer. No charge for photos which were excellent!
Can not fault trip Great guide Check in easy Toilets on boat kept clean Only thing I would say for your info Book direct I booked trough Tripadvisor but when looked at price direct worked out I paid £24 more than direct Trip run by Prince of Whales
What an experience. Captain Karl and Second Mate Vlad steered us on a smooth adventure this morning. From the top deck I learnt lots of really fabulous facts about whales from our guide Tasmin who is a marine biologist from the UK. She gave us a commentary when needed, told us about the company’s work to ensure they are a positive influence on wildlife, told some great stories about sightings from other trips and another times was quietly watching and anticipating the reappearance of a diving whale alongside us. Together with Petra and Jonah the team ensured we were treated to views of wildlife throughout. Getting the photos taken by the team afterwards is great. You can truly relax and just watch these breath taking mammals in their natural habitat. This team really cares about the mammals they are sharing with us .. a real treat. Do where something warm - it’s worth staying outside as you just never know when something will surface.
It includes excellent naturalists giving first class commentary. Very comfortable vessel with good viewing decks.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Lorraine! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the naturalist commentary and found the vessel comfortable with great viewing opportunities from the decks. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to welcome you aboard again in the future!
My daughter and I had a great adventure, with multiple opportunities to watch humpbacks and orcas, capped off by a swing closer to land where we saw sealions, harbor seals, a river otter and a black-tailed deer, not to mention lots of birds. Captain Roman did a great job circling back or moving in a little closer when feasible to get us better views. Thomas' enthusiasm for the whales -- all of which he knew by name/number -- was inspiring, and his stories about them were fun and interesting. Because I was new to taking pictures of whales, I wasn't sure what I was seeing in all of my photos, and he kindly confirmed my guesses -- yes, there are two whales in that photo; yes, that's Laurel, etc. Note to others taking the tour: Even if it is warm in Vancouver, it will be cool and very windy on the boat ride. I was glad to be wearing a windbreaker/raincoat with a hood.
Really amazing tour worth the time and money. We got to see orcas, humpbacks, sea lions, otters, bald eagles, kingfishers, etc. Our naturalist, Thomas, was so kind and knowledgeable. The rest of the team was great too!
