The full-day tour was absolutely amazing. The salt flats are breathtaking, and our guide made the experience fun and informative. Everything was well organized — from pick-up to sunset photos. A perfect day in one of the most unique places on Earth!
Turned out an amazing day. Have to admit we were a little worried as the booking process seemed a little loose and uncertain. The booking said one time, it ended up in my calendar at another time and then a confirmation email the night before was a different time again. The agenda for the day was not very clear and neither was the time commitment. Messages to the tour operator via Viator went unanswered. The process at the office seemed a little chaotic as well it seemed we were the only ones there who were on the one day tour (rest were on three days?). Conflicting instructions on where we could buy extra water for the day (eventually bought a block away) All of a sudden we were handed off to José who appeared to work for a different company (3Gigantes?) and he already had 4 others in a 4WD picked up from elsewhere. José was a brilliant guide. Made the day 5 star. Clear instructions, clear time guidance: how far to next stop, how long we had, toilets yes or no etc. Where he really excelled was his photography skills. Such fun forced perspective shots and great time lapse shots. Spectacular. Wonderful memories. And a good choice of red wine. And he dropped us back at our hotel saving us a 20 minutes walk in the dark. José was by far and away the best guide we have had on any of the tours this trip.
The guide was professional and aim to please. The weather was perfect with the rain falling nicely the day before. Mirage was everywhere during the visit. It was so beautiful that I’m stunned for words to describe. Only downfall is I waited 2 hrs behind the scheduled time for the driver to pick me at the airport. If not would have given 5 stars.
